  1. I like Picture People, they aren't the best price-wise, but they get GREAT shots. They also let you take them and if you don't like any you don't have to buy them.
  2. we do ours at sears, we've been pleased so far.
  3. sears and Jc penny's are both good, they have photo touch up, which is good. If you have a good camera, dont be afraid to take some shots yourself and touch them up with a simple photo shop. My sister takes all of my kids portraits and she has had no technical training... http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=viewImage&friendID=326573771&albumID=782592&imageID=3803022
  4. I'd say something like Kiddie Kandids or the smaller independent places that sometimes cost more. JcPenny sucks, by my experience. It's fine if you want the traditional "family portrait"... I went there for our newborn pictures and I'm SOOOOOooooooo sad and disappointed!!!! They're not cute like the other pictures you see advertised or pictures that other people got who went elsewhere. My baby looks cute but the poses are awful. She's not laying in our arms or we're not holding her feet or all that. The photographer just kind of didn't do that and we were new parents so... you know... Since we've made it a point to make sure all of our pictures are precious and we AVOID Jcpenny because they don't have any backgrounds--- we tried to do christmas portraits there one day, dressed up and everything, and found out they could give us black, white & brown. look for places that have a portfolio with creative shots because you want something nice and memorable. Also, when you go to do the pictures pay attention to how the photographer responds to you and how much they have to suggest. If they're not really paying attention and not suggesting a lot of cute poses just go ahead and leave and go somewhere else another day even if it seems like a hassle. Sears looks okay but nothing special.
  5. I had my lil boys 6 week pics taken by Ollan Mills at our local K Mart and they turned out wonderfully and the prices weren't that bad. I'm pretty sure i'll use them again when he's 6 months.
  6. omg.. my 7 month old is getting hers done today!!! yay! i am taking her to PORTRAIT INNOVATIONS. THEY'RE HAVING THAT $9.99 SALE. U GET ONE POSE AND A BUNCH OF DIFFERENT SIZE PICS. I'm going to get that plus add one more pose. **Shes going to be in her swim suit! beach/summer scene! **and the other pic will be her girly one, with a dress etc
  7. just got my 3 year old and 3 month old pics taken at portrait innovations and they turned out great!!!!!
  8. My oldest had his pictures taken every single month the 1st year of his life. We usually used Sears but occasionally JC Penny and WalMart. I really think most of it depends on the photographer, as far as the quality goes. We have some from WalMart that are just okay. Then again, my all time favorite picture is from WalMart. The ones we had made at Sears are good but they have gone up a LOT on their prices. JC Penny has the best prices, in my opinion, if you are going to buy a lot of pictures (if you use their coupons). I like the photos we've had done there but the nearest one is an hour away so we don't go there much.
