i got a webcam that doesnt work its always black when you try to take a picture/video how do you fix it?

its a mi micro innovations Zoom 2.0 Webcam (thats what it says) & i have set it up (put in all of the cord things) properly.

1. is it compatible for your computer.
2. did u install the drives and the program for it? message me if u need additional help
3. take the cover off the lense and if that does not work go get a hammer and hit your head with it a few times until you can see stars.
