Interior paint designs, modern, artistic?

I am looking for ideas for interior paint designs that are modern and artistic. Where can I view some ideas? I have two ideas: 1.) 3 colored, plain walls with one accent wall that is painted as geometric squares or freestyle art 2.) 4 plain walls with one accent wall that has three strips of patterned rectangular fabric hanging. I am really looking for artistic/modern ideas. Thanks.

  1. Watch some of the home make over shows, look to home design magazines and such. Even ads that are selling something else where the room has been staged. Is this something you are going to do yourself? It's pretty easy. One possibility is for the the patterned stripes or geometrics, you could tape off the wall, add a glaze to the paint, and paint inside those areas with that glaze. Giving the wall the same color, but only adding a gloss feature that is noticed but not NOTICED. Another idea is if you see something you like, you could rent or buy an overhead projector. Project the image onto the wall, pencil/chalk it in, and paint it onto that wall. (Ex. The big brother 8 house. The really cool wall with the chandeliers. That was because of the shadow of the one chanelier. So it was repeated.) You could make a stencil of that one and repeat it over and over again. I would suggest if doing a pattern or such, changing the paint gloss. Just so it is different than the wall paint itself. As for hangable wall paintings that are freestyle, pick up some colors that match your room. Grab some canvases that are the sizes you need. Art is art, as long as it's original and not a poster of one of the classics it's beautiful. There is nothing like walking into someone's home and seeing posters or prints of the master's framed and hanging around the house. (YUCKY GROSS!!!) As long as you have something original, no matter the cost, no matter where you've purchased it, at least you have art. I hope that you find your inspiration. It can be found in the strangest of places. With the home shows, even if they are doing something different, you'll learn the technique that may help you execute your idea. Best of Luck!!
