What is the biggest problem to restrict the development of "open innovation" websites?

I mean websites on which you can post a challenging problem or task, and set a price for that, wait for challengers to come up with their solution, then you can pick out the best one and give the bounty to the champion, like www.innocentive.com. However, no website like that is as popular as Yahoo answers until now. What is the biggest problem to restrict their development?

  1. I think that the best answer to your question is right under your nose. Yahoo! Answers IS the solution, or better, is the PROBLEM that is restricting development/growth of "open innovation" websites. Actually it really isn't Yahoo! Answers' fault that it's so popular, and appears to be monopolizing this "oi" style site apparatus. Fortunately for Yahoo!, they are the frontrunner per se of these 'innovators' in this new realm. Say you were to start such a site, you'd be in direct competition with Y!A, unless of course you had a more competitive/'innovative' proposal. Then, like with Facebook, or Myspace before it, you may receive an offer from Yahoo! or M$, or Rupert, that you might not be able to refuse. Good luck with that, the answers and whatever ideas you come up with.
