how do I set up my micro innovations wireless mouse and key board?

I am having some problems getting them to work.

1. after you've plugged in the keyboard and mouse, you probably need to restart the pc. The reason being, PS2 connections (the round keyboard and mouse connections going into the back of the pc) do not reinitialize once broken. if you unplug the purple or green cable for the keyboard and mouse, the only way to get it working again is to restart the computer.
