kitchen borders around top of wall or better at counter height?
I have looked through five country kitchen wallpaper books and in every one, the 9 " border is not shown at the top of the wall but at counter height. Is this the new trend?

- That height kind of creates a chair rail. It really is personal taste. In homes where cathedral ceilings are involved the border is applied a foot lower than the ceiling and then wall above is painted the ceiling color to bring the wall to a more visual height. Try cutting a piece for say one wall and applying it with tacks. Place it a different heights to see what is appealing to you. Have fun!
