Can you put drawers next to a cooker in the kitchen?
It comes up with a cross through it on the Ikea kitchen planner but I have no where else to put them why does Ikea say this?

- I have but I tend to use to two furthest hobs to cook.
- Heat from the side of the cooker could ruin the side of the unit. Best to have a bit of a gap or insulation between the two.
- Mine have been next to the cooker for 6 years and no problems yet.
- you might knock something off the stove on yourself while fiddeling around in the drawer.
- Of course, this is done in kitchen designs all the time. dunno why the online planner won't let you.
- There is no reason why you can not just put them there, but I think the reason IKEA says not to is the safety hazard as you risk to whack your head when you bend down and if you have something on the cooker at the time it could be dangerous, are you sure you can't move another unit and slide it in some where else.
- you can put any unit next 2 your cooker all carcases(cupboards)r made from same kind of board.no kitchen manufacture will use different materials in a kitchen for standard cupboards,& if ikea r telling u differant they r full of shit.I have been making fitted kitchens for 14 years. You build a oven housing & put a oven inside of it & they r safe, tell them they talking out of their arses.
- Of course you can CAD programs are just BONKERS sometimes.
