anyone used butcher block kitchen counter tops from ikea?
saw them in better home and gardens mag.they were customed stain mahogany with a urethan coating.The cabinet were a creamy white and the backsplash was light green really pretty and the tops seem fairly inexpensive.

- Urethane, polyurethane and verathane are all products that yellow over time, so you may want to keep that in mind. Also, wooden countertops will absorb stains and will need to be resealed periodically. It really just depends on how much you use your countertops and have to wash them. If you have kids/teens or have friends who aren't quite housebroken, I'd stay away from them. On the other hand, if you're handy and don't mind refinishing wood, these might be the counters for you. Just consider your lifestyle, kitchen use and costs. They're really pretty, though! Good luck!
