What colour would you paint a kitchen with ikea white cupboards, black granite countertops, grey ceramic floor

The kitchen itself is quite small (galley kitchen) but the adjoining "eating" are is huge with a large sliding glass door on the one wall - there is a lot of walls to paint.

  1. I had similar...I went with a medium beige, which went well with both a Paris boutique, or a Cafe/coffee house theme! Used bolder burgandies as an accent color on towels, rugs, etc.
  2. my moms kitchen is somewht like that and hers is a lightish maroon with hunter green and burgandy border
  3. With such neutral colors, I would make sure to add something in there that will "pop". For instance, depending on the amount of wall you are talking about, add some red somewhere. If you're talking about mainly small amounts of wall, the remainder being red (or another bright color if red isn't your taste) would being out the "flat" nature of the black and white. If you are going to have lots of wall to paint, maybe stick with a white or gray that corresponds with the counter tops, but with the red as a back splash above the counter to break the colors. Good luck and enjoy your kitchen. :)
  4. A taupe would look good. It's a beigy greyish color. It will tye in all the colors. I would add a splash of bold color to really make the room pop. A green, red, cranberry, yellow.....stay away from aqua, peach or any other pastel color.
  5. Red comes to my mind. I think it would look sharp!!!
  6. Deep primary colors work well with black and white
  7. All of your colors (black, gray and white) are very cool, so if you want to cozy it up you need to choose a warm color. The only one I can think of is red and that would look very dramatic. Depending on your taste, you could choose a variation on red, like salmon or terracotta or a deep apricot. If you want to keep a cool look, try a slate blue.
  8. You need some color! I like "Paradise Green" by Dulux: http://www.dulux.co.uk/servlet/ColourSchemeHandler?name=paradise_green_4
