Has anybody got a receipt for an Ikea kitchen?

We bought a kitchen in January and have lost the recipt. The council wont compensate us for the kitchen unless we have a recipt! Even though they can clearly see wi've put a new one in. We have phoned Ikea and they are unable to give us a replacement recipt!

1. why are the council compensating for that anyway?
2. If you paid by cheque or credit/debit card then, legally, their statements are sufficient.
