Whats you favorite cooking show and why?

I like america's test kitchen. It's thorough and they explain the problems in recipes and how they overcame them. They also have a blind taste testing bit where you find out if the highest priced things are really the best and they always make decent recipes. What's yours? Yay americas test kitchen is on now. NOOOOOOOOOOOO it's a stupid baking episode. I hate the desert ones. :(((((

  1. I like American Test Kitchen as well, but my favorite is Good Eats, Alton entertains as well as makes good food.
  2. Paula Dean. Because she is down to earth, funny and her recipes actually turn out like they are supposed to without a lot of fuss and ingredients. So, she licks her fingers and is not as perfect as some of the others but if you ever tried one of her recipes you would understand. Next would be Alton Bron and Barefoot Conteesa. Alton is fun to watch because he makes everything he does look so incredibly simple and without the fuss of fancy machines or tools. barefoot Conteesa is just so soft spoken and she explains everything so clearly and takes her time. I also lie to watch the Iron Chef Series. It is so interesting to watch them do what they do with what they have to do it with.
  3. Jacques Pepin and Lydia Bastianich on PBS. They clearly show technique, simple recipes and recipes for entertaining guests.
  4. i like barefoot contessa she always has delicious recipes
  5. My current fav is Rachel Ray's 30 minute meals. I like her personality and the way she cooks. To me it's like watching and learning from the girl next door. Plus she rarely cooks things that most people wouldn't have on hand or would be to expensive to cook. Second fav is Sandra Lee's Semi Homemade again she shows easy ways to fix up store bought stuff and she has some great ideas (some wacky ones too) for making stuff special. These shows are both on the Food Network.
  6. I have to say I'm a Paula Deen fan, watching her show reminds me of being a little girl sitting on my grandma's kitchen counter. The food is yummy and she uses real butter and enjoys her food. America's test kitchen is cool too but they kind of take the art out of food, it's just a bit too scientific for me. A close second is Dinner Impossible, love love love that show, it's good food and a military challenge all in one!!!!
  7. Paula Deen...however, anything on the Food Network rocks. I also like Rachel, Giada, Alton ( my 13yo sons favorite), Emeril, Tyler....ok ....I like em all.....lol
  8. Ctrl + Alt Chicken!!!! is a podcast about two normal people attempting hard recipes it fun and awesome because it's a down to earth show with hosts just like me (never owned a restaurant, never went to culinary school, ect.) and it shows you that even an average joe can make beef wellington or bananas foster and other recipes. When and if i do watch TV i like Guy's big bite paula deen the OLD rachel ray
  9. It used to be rachel ray when she was down to earth and wasnt so into herself. Now, i watch a show called "my meal" and it's simple foods top chefs make when they get home from after work, so us normal people can make it as well.
  10. Food Network...........great show on all day and all night............they have kitchen shows to on the road shows, its just a great show www.foodnetwork.com
