Remodeling, Redecorating question! Help!?
My husband and I are looking for an economical way to update our kitchen. I saw on HGTV they used a laminated stainless-steel look sheeting to cover the appliances, which looked great. We thought of doing this to our countertops. Does anyone know of any websites about this, or have any information on it? I've heard of real stainless steel counters causing problems with grounding electrical appliances. Is this true? Help! lol

- hgtv.com try it. you might find something under 'kitchen' or 'countertops' i find all kinds of ideas on there.
- Here you go: http://www.fauxsteel.com/?gclid=CLzD-bmi1pACFQwZgQodjUdNQA
- Formica and Wilsonart both offer metalic laminate for your counter top. Look up a supplier in your area. I have never heard of the counters causing problems with the appliances, remember all commercial kitchens use satinless steel. Caution on surfacing your appliances though if you were also thinking of that. Everything looks better on TV. It will look terrible in your home.
- I have not heard of stainless steel counter tops causing problem. I use them a lot, and they are a great durable finish. In fact stainless steel is really the only counter top finish you see in restaurant kitchens. But they can be a little expensive anyway. Your best bet if your on a budget is to use a stainless steel laminate look a like. But just know laminates come in literally more finishes than you can imagine. Any kind of metallic finish you might want you can get. Have fun and good luck.
