ok , honestly... Would it look tacky if I only installed hardwood flooring in the living room and hallway ?

My small 928 square foot home is a 2 small bedroom , office and 1 bath home is my love but watching HGTV is making me dream !!! And crazy due to a smaller than usual bankroll. Would it look dated or odd to only do hardwood flooring in the living room and hall way. I have awesome laminate in the kitchen and bathroom. Would it look like the flooring dept. at home depot exploded in my home? HELP!!!????

1. I have carpet in my living room/bedroom and the rest is tile. Which looks great ot break up the space. I dont think hardwood would be a mistake if you did it only in select areas.
2. No, I don't think it would look bad. I am planning on doing the same thing in my home. Only the bedrooms will be carpeted.
3. No. . . not at all! I know houses that have hardwood floors throughout. I love hardwood floors. Good Luck!

5. It IS best to limit the number of floor coverings to 2 or 3 ... I'd choose a wood tone that blended with the laminate floors and carpet, so there isn't a dividing line that jumps out at you ....
6. I don't think it would be tacky at all. It would look great! I actually have different color carpet in all 3 bedrooms, plus a different linoleum in the bathroom, and yet another different color in Kitchen and hall.
7. I think that would look absolutely fine. I'm with you on the Hgtv shows, I'm addicted and get some cool ideas on decorating. If u have a chance could u help me w/ my question??
