Is there any way to paint a white refrigerator black, and/or other appliances?
I wish to change my dull white appliances in my kitchen to black but I can not afford to buy all new or used appliances. I have seen on HGTV that it is possible to paint a refrigerator but I am not sure how that would look, feel, or even if the paint job would last with cleaning. Hopefully you all can help.

- there is special appliace paint or something like that for this job. go to home depot or lowes and ask a lot of questions.. they will be glad to answer them all..
- they make paint especially for appliances that works fine
- JUST LIKE YOU CAN YOUR PAINT A CAR... NOT SOMETHING YOU DO EVERY DAY!
- I have seen it done on shows like Trading Spaces with high-temperature, high gloss engine paint. I myself think it looks a little odd, but they're your appliances.
- there is appliance paint that works great and will last a very long time with out peeling. Contact an appliance distributor for details.
- Yes, there are special paints made for that purpose but I don't know the price. There are also stainless steel looking panels you can put on them.
- Prep well and check out the prices of having it done for you. You can buy Plexiglas panels and back them with magnets.
- Epoxy paint. However, there are companies that do this and that's what I would do. You want it to look professional.
- In Australia there is some stuff called ESP. You can paint this on the Fridge then use a gloss enamel paint over it. Works great.
- You can do it one of two ways: 1. You can sand down the appliance, then spray a coat of black primer on it, then clear coat it. 2. You can sand down the appliance, then spray a coat of black primer on it, then put a coat of actual black paint on it then clear coat it. Keep in mind if you use the first choice, the color might come out as a dull black, I recomend, a black latex paint, with that no primer or clear coat is needed. But latex always has the chance of peeling later on. so if not that then use an enamel paint, and as some said erler they do sell a paint for appliances. I will all so tell you that if it is a rough surface appliance then you, will probally just have to clean it up real good (dirt and grim if any) and use a coat of latex paint over the other paint. If you need anymore help of if I didn't explain something clearly, just email me, and I will be glad to help.
- We changed the colors... Need to take to place that does painting for Auto's etc and have it done by experts, you do it and will not look right.... Will look like new if U take it to those who do it for a living.
- you can buy appliance paint at wal-mart or any hardware store
- Automotive primer, and paint. Prep surface with 600 wet/dry sandpaper. Clean off dust well.
