So are there kitchens fan/range hoods that vent out to the side?

I have a hole in my kitchen that goes up to a chimeny... I think its for a Kitchen fan but its on the side not the back . So are there kitchens fan/range hoods that vent out to the side? I want to install one but I dont know anything about them or what to do.

1. You can buy vent pipe pieces that will turn up to a 90 degree angle. So the hood fan may go up but you put a elbow on it and connect to your side ways chimney.
2. ok what you need to do is find out what that vent is for and then go to your home improvement center and explane to them what you want to do and they can help you also draw a picture so that you can explane to them more and they have a ieda about whta you will need
3. Almost all kitchen vent hoods can be installed vented or non vented. You will probably need some kind of fitting to make it work. Measure the existing vent, diameter if it is round, Length and width if rectangular. Take this info to home improvement store. They will set you up with what you need. You will also need someone to help you with the installation.
