Can you suggest a paint colour to go with a new kitchen that has walnut units and black shiny worktops?

As I said the units are walnut with long silver handles. The appliances are silver. The worktops are black marble. All the accessories are silver/black, so I feel the walls need a colour to compliment the kitchen. I'm not keen on anything too dramatic because it's not very big. Just something subtle. Also, do you think it's strange to have framed pictures in a kitchen?

5. red or a sage green would go great. But go with your gut.

8. depends a lot on your taste and the rest of the house. sthg light to complement the darkness: pale mint; sage green; rusty violet; cream vanilla white; metallic chrome (for the silver hardware but be careful with this one!); robbin blue; framed pictures in kitchen look great! adds a little class and style...no matter what'sin the frame. have fun decorating.
9. Use soft linen,can not remember if it is in DULUX or Crown.

11. try a soft sage or drab green. Also, for the window's, a great sophisticated look would be to add blinds in the same walnut used through out the kitchen. To compliment the black.......use black throw rugs or accents on the flooring and on all accessories. Also.....NO.....I DO NOT THINK THAT IT IS STRANGE TO USE FRAMED PICTURES IN THE KITCHEN!!! Go with it and continue to think out of the box.....I love it!!!!
12. Why not go with a silvery gray or a very light blue? You can put anything you want in your kitchen and framed pictures will add interest. Do what makes you happy.
13. A very deep cream would look lovely. The frames will only look odd if you have too many, odd numbers look best, 3 is always good.
14. I would have said light grey or red -but as for the pictures hope they are glass fronted -I havent found a kitchen yet -however good the extraction system -that doesnt leave a greasy film on walls,ceilings and fittings.
15. Keep the colors in lighter and healthier shades of brown, peach, yellow, pink or blue. If you are bold, you could also opt for bright red or green colors but try to limit it to three colors or else you are bound to end up with a gypsy kitchen. Peachier colors lends an ageing look over years which enhances the look of the kitchen.

17. well depends on how much light you have and what you intend to do with the floor. if you go for say a terracotta or a red based colour then you will need a light floor as room will feel enclosed and dark . if tiles are light then yes a possible darker paint would be fine . look at some neutral colours like white with a hint of colour added to them . i used a paint called pearl its like a white with a hint of pink looks wonderful . remember its a kitchen and you do have a dark units and worktop so you need to break it up .
