For my project, i need some new ideas to design a bathroom product like tap, vanity basin, showers, toilets, etc
Im doing a project on bathroom products design. For that, i need to know the EXPERIENCES, NEEDS and DESIRES of both novice and expert users of bathroom products. These bathroom products can be - Taps, Showers, Toilets, Baths, Vanity basins, or Bathroom furniture. I have to do any one of these products (right now im thinking to do tapware and vanity basins). Can anyone tell me their experiences while using a tap or a vanity basin or any of the above product, their needs and desires. In addition, some new ideas of improving any of the above bathroom products would also be appreciated. Im also looking for something that even conserves water since a lot of water gets consumed in bathroom. Thanks!

- If you can design an ink jet printer that can paint tile for the bathroom, you will be on to something with immediate bathroom application but much more. It costs $1000's to paint murals on tile in a bathroom. If it could be done in minutes on a printer it would be big!
- May I suggest you consider the needs, experiences and desires of handicapped people when working on your report? The reason I state this, I have just recently received 100% disability and am having my house modified now. Whereever I go, I use my electric wheelchair because I just cannot walk very far let alone stand for very long (less than 5 minutes anymore). When I go into a supposedly handicapped accessible bathroom, the only thing that was accessible was the toilet stall (enough room for my chair and to turn it around in. Bars on 3 sides as well. The vanity? Ah, that was a different story altogether. Rather hard to get my legs under the vanity when the vanity has a cabinet underneath of it. As for taps, something good looking that is useful is nice. The ones I currently have in my house are harder than all get out to turn sometimes, especially when my son turns them off. My contractor is doing a wonderful job on the modifications so far. Can hardly wait to get moved in. Good luck on your report!
- here's a free idea a sink faucet with an on-off valve (after the cold and hot valves so you can adjust the temperature separately) that has a foot pedal operator then you can brush you teeth, or shave, or whatever without the water running all the time, only when you push on the pedal saves water it would have to have a lock down for the pedal for when you wanted to use the tap the ole fashioned way cute, huh?
