A traffic light control at a simple intersection uses a binary counter produce the following sequence of combinations on lines A,B,C, and D: 0000,0001,0011,0010,0111,0101,0100,1100,1101,1111,1110,1010,1011,1001,1000. After 1000, the sequences begins again and repeats forever. Each combination is present for 5 seconds before the next one appears. These lines drive combinational logic with outputs to lamps RNS,YNS,GNS,REW,YEW,GEW. The lamp controlled by each output is ON for a 1 applied and OFF for a 0. For a given direction, assume green is on for 30s, yellow for 5s, and red for 45s. Devide up the 80 seconds available for the cycle through the 16 combinations into 16 intervals and determine which lamps should be lit in each interval based on expected driver bhavior. Assume for interval 0000 a change has just occurred and that GNS=1, REW=1, and all others are 0. Design the logic to produce the six outputs using AND and OR gates and inverters.

Project Design: Relays Controlling Light Bulbs? Hi all, I am designing a project for school. One of the systems uses a light bulb controlled by the relay. I chose a 13W CFL bulb which claims to be as brights as 60W. Using P=VI, I calculated the current to be 110 mA. I = P/V = 13W/120VRMS Power is always expressed in RMS value = 108.3 mA However, printed on the base of the light bulb it says El/mdT 13W 120V 220mA. Why 220 mA? I chose a 150 mA relay and a 200 mA fuse. Are these specs too small now? I doubt I would be able to find a light bulb less than 150 mA. texasmav, Are regular light bulbs purely resistive? i bought 850i jst 3wks ago. i noticed that brightness sumtyms gets out of control, lights up then dims down? when the brightness runs out of control at any mode, text.. music ... or when using camera. then all of a sudden it normalizes again. i know sumting is wrong with its software or the unit itself. i had a 300i before and it just operate normally. 12 Volt vs. 120 Volt Lighting / Controls? So I am currently working on an insane lighting project for my entertainment center / "dragon" computer, and have come across a problem. So my setup is as follows. I am designing a switchboard that will house toggle switches for various LED lights and accents. Their will be a master switch that powers the other switches, which will in turn power each set of lights. The lights I have are 12 volt (DC) And it seems that the switches are DC as well. So my question is, how do I run this system in a house (120V)?

Circuit design for traffic light operation? My church has a traffic light for the youth building. We want to wire it up to use it as a timer...when turned on, the green lights will energize for 8 minutes then the yellow lights will come on for 2 minutes then the red lights come on. I do not know what type of lights a standard traffic light uses (ac or dc, volts, watts, etc) and we are trying to keep the control box/circuit design cost to a minimum. Any suggestions?

Lighting up climate controls at night via small LED? My climate controls in my Taurus don't light up at all (by design -- it's an aftermarket panel). I was thinking of somehow mounting an LED (or really tiny CCFL) there to light 'em up a bit -- any ideas on how to wire it? Hhow would I do it to be as unobtrusive as possible? And finally, is it legal (Minnesota)? Thanks. I bought the car locally and it came with an aftermarket stereo -- who knows how long the previous owner had it :P Due to the Taurus's crappy radio design, the climate control panel is part of the radio. Thus they had to replace it with an aftermarket panel, which just happens to not be lit up. They run for over $60 in most stores and don't light up -- not much of a choice here :P

Evolution or intelligent design?I was just outdoors and seen all the fireflies.? How do fireflies produce light? Fireflies produce light via a chemical reaction consisting of Luciferin (a substrate) combined with Luciferase (an enzyme), ATP (adenosine triphosphate) and oxygen. When these components are added, light is produced. There are several theories on how fireflies control the "on" and "off" of their photic organs. However, the exact mechanism(s) has yet to be worked out. The "Oxygen Control Theory" is based on the firefly turning on and off its light by controlling the oxygen supply to the photic organ for use in the chemical reaction. The "Neural Activation Theory" hypothesizes that fireflies have neural control of structures called "tracheal end cells" which, upon stimulation, may release a messenger molecule in the photic organ which initiates the activation of the chemical reaction. Regardless of how fireflies control the "on" and "off" of their bioluminescence, the production of light in the above manner is very efficient, with very little heat being given off as wasted energy. Imagine what would happen if the beetle got as warm as a light bulb! Just about 100% of the fireflies light is given as light where as a light bulb gives only 10% of it's energy as light and 90% as heat. quite efficient is it not. how did he know to do that? Remote control cinema system, how can i turn it on without the remote?? Please help? I have an expensive 5.1 cinema surround sound system connected to the PC, but it can only be turned on via a remote control, i had a big house party 2 nights ago and the cigarette lighter sized remote control has disappeared, is there any way to turn on items like this without the remote, i have tried all manner of button combinations on the 3 buttons on there, 2 for volume, and one for bass boost, but no joy? Can Mcb's be used as functional switches? I would like to use a MCB as functional switch to control lighting load. I will frequently be using the MCB as I use a normal switch. Our bathroom has 2 sets of lighting switches 1 is for 2 of the "heating light" which I believe is designed to have max of 250 watts each or 500 watts total (500/110 = 4.54 amp) The other swich controls 5 lights and supposly max out at 75 watts (or 100 watts each, it didn't say, but I suspect a regular outlet for lights supports only up to 100 watts) so that swich is for max of 500 watts also. Now, I have 4 of them on energy efficent (CFL) lights of 20 watts each. but on 5th one. (different location, I want to put a 250 Watts light) My question is...IS THIS SAFE??!?!?! I really like to have this done cause I want to get some "heat" from where the 5th outlet is located. 250 watts only requires less than 2.5 amps of current but I don't understand why some light says max you can use is 100 watts? LOL...I should make a details that I do have a very high grade in general college Physics regarding electricity so yes, I know P =VI....and V=IR so that P = I^2 *R or V^2/R etc etc. I should make it clear that this question is only for Real electricians. Is it normal for your period to become lighter after taking birth control for awhile? ok so i've been taking loestrin 24 fe (pill designed to make period lighter and only 3 days long) for about 10 months and haven't had much problems with it. my periods were always sorta heavy on this, except for this month. this month it was very light, sort of stopping and starting. it DID come on time though. i'm just wondering, is it common (and/or possible) to have your period become lighter or non-existent after being on birth control for a long period of time?

How can I control my light switch from the other side of the room? I'm not as lazy as you think. I just moved into a bedroom with two doors, but only a single light switch by one of the doors. I'd like to be able to turn the light on and off as I enter and exit both doors--not just the one. Is it better get an insole designed for flat feet or motion control shoes? I want some form of support because of my flexible flat feet, but I want a relatively LIGHT shoe. Dash Lights no longer work after install? I just installed a Kenwood KDC X794 deck into my 2004 Toyota Rav4. On the harness there was an orange illumination/dimmer wire that I was able to connect to the Kenwood Deck. It is working as designed with the deck dimming as the car lights are turned on. The problem is now the lights that illuminate the A/C controls when you turn on the front headlights are not working (thankfully the A/C & heat work fine). It is weird because the dash lights, cigarette lighter, and other dash lights all work and respond to the dimmer knob. For some reason the A/C control lights stopped working. I checked all the fuses and they are good to go (all the other dash lights work and I assume all those are on the same circuit). Is it possible that those lights are in some way connected through the factory radio? I can't think of anything else to try. Everything works great accept for those few little lights. Any suggestions would be helpful. Please advise.

tankless gas hot water heater with electrical gas lighting.? I have a gas tankless hot water heater. the pilot frequently shut off. The gas valve control is controlled by water flow. When there is hot water runs, the water creates a pressure discrepancy at two sides of valve so the gas is on. I do not like this kind design because it is not reliable. about every three years the value needs replaced. It has been replaced twice by me and a plumber. aftermarket gauge lighting 2000 LeSabre? Im considering adding a few extra gauges to my 2000 LeSabre. I was wondering where I should tap into in order to connect the lighting for the gauges. Radio's a no go; I put an aftermarket one in and theres no illumination wire to my knowledge, and of course the climate control is that stupid plug and play design. paper supplier for graphic design student? Hi all, about to progress into the 2nd year of a BA Hons in Graphic Design and I'm hoping to increase the level of finish in my work. As you can see from the gameplay from The Bourne Conspiracy, the fighting was simplistic and frankly, lame. Almost every single fighting game out there is a button masher. This game won't be like that. You will have the choice as to where and how you strike. Complete control. The fighting will be based around Krav Maga and Fillipino Kali. Again, I havn't figured out a sure control scheme but there will be a way to be good or bad at this game. As I implied earlier, you can use whatever you want. Your fists, a bottle, a baseball bat, a gun, a shotgun, an M-16, even a bomb. But, whatever means you use, will affect who you are in the game. Sure, you may get it done quickly, but are you actually stopping crime, or are you just creating more of it. Furthermore, if you use a baseball bat, you can beat a man in order to get him to talk, or you could beat him to a pulp...dead. How far are you willing to go? So, similar to a Fable type choice. If you do choose to use a gun, it will be a high quality shooter. In line with Gears of War. Many 3rd persons suck, but not this one. Cover and reloading will also tie in perfectly with the fluidity of the gameplay. In order to not be repetitive, when you get in a car, you switch to a first person view and it turns into a full fledge drving game. The choices you make while driving will change what happens too. You could drive around running people over, but this will have a drastic effect on who you are. So, now why should people care about stopping the crime? You could just spend hours and hours jumping from rooftop to rooftop, even robbing banks yourself. But the longer you let the crime go on, the worse its going to get. It will get worse and worse even to the point that it is irreversable. Everyone you know will be affected by the growth, your city will shut down. So, you probably want to keep it clean. So as you can tell, this is still just a concept. But imagine what it could be. There is just a severe lack of quality superhero games and even games that make you feel like the bomb when you play. There was a 72 inch plasma screen that stood there ready to be used. “Why don’t you have a seat”, Mrs. Anderson told Julia. “oh wait, would you rather go to home theater?” Julia smiled. “Oh that won’t be necessary”, Julia’s mother answering for her. Julia reluctantly gave a slight nod of her head. “Mom, why would you say something like that? Of course, I would rather watch a movie than listen to adults talk, she thought to herself. Julia was mad at her mother. “Oh well, she while thinking of all her unanswered questions. At 6:30 pm Julia’s mother decided that it was time to go home. “Lavendar, Rose” Mrs. Anderson called from the bottom of the deep blue colored carpet. They came sprinting down the steps. “Mommy”, I don’t want Rose to leave, Lavendar whined. “I’m afraid they’ve got to”, Mrs. Anderson said. She opened the door. By this time it was raining very hard. BOOM, they heard thunder. Julia wasn’t listening she kept walking with her eyes focused on the door. Julia swung it open. There was a giant hill with HOLLYWOOD printed on it in big white letters. All three of the faces smiled. There was also a busy road making not too hard to find a taxi cab. They hopped in the bright yellow cab. “Where to”? The cab driver asked in his deep-commercial-like voice. “The Hollywood Orchid Suite”, Rose said in her high pitched voice answering for her mother. He driver dropped them off and waved goodbye. Mrs. Lintheart led the way inside while Rose took her time skipping and twirling in her ridiculously pink blouse and her pink sparkly shirt to match. They walked into the lobby. “ Who might you be”, the guy behind the counter asked Rose. “My name is Rose Lintheart”, Rose answered. “Lintheart eh”, the guy behind the counter said as he started to type something in the computer. “Ah yes, you will be staying in suite #339. Julia tried again and got it almost perfect. “What’s this”, Rose said pointing to the piece of paper with the lines on it. Julia took the piece of paper out of Rose’s hands. She looked at it carefully, there was another verse of lines. Do I have to recite these lines too, she thought to herself. The lines were sad. They were about girl who finds her long lost mother. “Let’s practice these too”, Julia told her mother. They practiced. There was crying scene that Julia just couldn’t get right. “Try thinking of something sad”, Rose said. Julia took this advice. She thought and thought but couldn’t find anything sad. Julia finally got something from her own life. Her dad. It seemed so long since Julia had seen him. Tears welled up in her eyes. “Mom, when will we see dad”? “If you get the part soon enough, if you don’t we could still visit him on set, but we’d have to notify him first”. Julia had a mission. The same mission as before (to get the part) but for a different reason. She longed to see her father. ~CHAPTER 8~ She slept through the night. She was ready, only half an hour till auditions. She was given an outfit to wear (provided by Hollywood Studios). It was a light blue baby doll top with black leggings. The lobby was big and grand. I do not know how to describe it other than the simple words big and grand. They went through the double doors and outside. They fetched a cab and rode on the busy streets of Hollywood. They pulled into the parking lot of Hollywood Studio. They walked inside and saw 15 other girls waiting to audition. Since she was the last audition, she saw some girls coming out crying, and others expressionless. It had black floors and there were three judges. There was also a person next to her that acted like the mom. The judges explained that she could choose either of the two verses to audition. Julia considered this thought very carefully. At the end she decided that she would choose the mall one because she practiced it more and she could relate to it better. Julia had butterflies in her stomach. She spoke clearly, and said the words with emotion. Julia felt a bit better. She thought that she had nailed the audition, but only time would tell if she got the part. She waited in the room along with the other girls. She was nervous. The main judge came out. He cleared his throat, “The winner who gets the part is Julia Lintheart.” Julia gasped. “Me”, Julia said scarcely believing what she just heard. Programmable light switch question? Just moved into a new house and there's this light switch that controls the front outdoor light by the door. It looks very new but I can't find it anywhere online or a brand name to run a search. Here's my question: Its a very simple looking design with just a spinning wheel that has the 24 hours listed like a clock. If you push the 'wheel' the lights goes on, push it again they turn off. Does anyone have any idea of how to set the timer on it so the lights go off and on automatically? I've tried spinning it to 4pm pressing the button and then turning it to 6am and pressing it again... I have no idea how to set this thing. Also, the wheel is stationery at all times - so it doesnt automatically spin around like one of those light timers you plug into a lamp... Help please.... Pregnant? Could she be? last had sex april 20th. had spotty then extremely spotty light four day period two days early in may 7th. In june period didn't come. week later on 15th june took a test ept 25 miu came back neg. Took same test again on the 17th same neg response. Took clear blue easy 25 miu test twice one on the 20th, another on the 21st both neg. She has had a baby previously and showed all the signs of pregnancy by this time last pregnancy. Yet this time she has not one sign of pregnancy. Im concerned because both she and I are not ready for a child and wish to not be pregnant right now. She switched birth control brands (same design different brand) in mid april. She forgot to take a weeks worth of pills two weeks ago but we are not worried about that due to us last having sex april 20th. She has been under a ton of stress due to finals and her mother. The last time she missed a period was when she was last pregnant. She is telling me she's not pregnant that she would know women instinct. Any idea She is pretty sure it was a period. Just very very light. If it was indeed a period that would rule out pregnancy. Correct? Also if it was a missed period in may that would be over six weeks. A pregnancy test would show by that alloted time correct? Also could the weeks worth of missed pills mess up the intire cycle?
