How to find unique, quirky presents for girlf? Hey. I want to find unique & quirky presents for my girlfriend but not sure how to find these items. Recently I found a set of books by artist Keri Smith and a comic-style picture frame in River Island. I think she will love both. Had I not been browsing River Island I would never have been aware of these items. I don't want to be looking in every shop every week for new stock etc. Anyone know a good way of finding quirky things like this??? Thanks
Where can I find a great downtown of small primarily locally-owned shops in Columbus, OH? I live in the Grandview area but am willing to travel 15 minutes out in any direction. Looking for a "quaint" area with small shops to browse for Christmas gifts. Not looking for a place like Easton where it's all chain stores. I'm wondering if there's a section of town with nice stores/boutiques that sell unique items such as clothes, jewelry, knick-knacks, local foods/wines, garden art, books/cd's, etc.
Mom gift help: I have narrowed it down to TWO items? okay, so i know i've asked this before but i just wanna make sure my money is being spent wisely. Okay, so I'm 22 and my mom is 48. We were shopping the other day and she hinted to me in one way or another that she liked each of the below items. My problem is I have $100 to spend on her, so I can only get one of the items. The rest of the money I will spend on a necklace from Anthropologie. So, which article shall i pick? A little bit about her: -48 y/o -looks about 10 years younger -her style is very chic and modern with a slightly vintage twist -she has a lot of basic pieces which is why I think the three items are so unique - she has a bit of a stomach and a large bust so she wants to make sure everything fits right I need an answer quickly, thanks!! 1. Merino Lili ruffle-chiffon cardigan (in either navy or desert brown) http://www.jcrew.com/AST/Browse/WomenBrowse/Women_Shop_By_Category/sweaters/merino/PRDOVR~10000/10000.jsp 2. Shopping websites/clothing stores with low priced (indie/vintage/unique) clothes? I've been browsing Yahoo answers all morning and other websites because I'm trying to find vintage clothing and possibly indie clothing, school appropriate dresses, destroyed jeans, fashion forward tops like you see at delias and forever 21, unique sandals/shoes/boots, etc that do not cost a lot of money or as much as they do in those stores I know there's Forever 21 and Wet Seal and Charlotte Russe out there that have low priced stuff but I'm looking for brands, stores, and shopping websites that may not be commonly known or places well known that carry such items Any ideas..?
Is there stores in London that specialise in "Gothic" Wear? I'm a more curious about Gothic wear. I've browsed at least 1 websites and found quite a diverse range of clothing from t-shirts to wear everyday to the really fantastic tops that put Duran Duran to shame (in their younger days). I just wanted to find out if there are stores that specialize in "Gothic" wear and aren't like the high street stores that offer up watered down versions. I'm looking for unique items. So, know of any stores? Telephone and contact details would be appreciated. Websites would be ace. Thanks. Serious answers please.

Serious question about the U.S. and this mental condition? http://www.auctionbytes.com/cab/abu/y206/m06/abu0169/s05 Browsing about how Ebay watchers can see what others are bidding on_and I can probably find this through my own Ebay account, but I only use the basics there and can find it faster by googling_I have encountered this page (link above). Reading this has added to my idea that indeed people in some Western countries, especially in the U.S., tend to be so suspicious of things that it turns to paranoia somehow somewhere down the line. I began noticing this a couple of years ago, and it helped me see it further in the fact that people moving over here from a close by communist country, act openly in their social surroundings, smile, laugh, talk out loud, are pro-active in every way don't chide away from asking questions in broken English or no English at all, apply for every available government-subsidied program, and could care any less if any government is "spying" on them or not (the stories I hear out loud on the street almost daily, proves this). We cannot argue that they act in this manner precisely because of having lived under a dictatorship where government agents and police do show up at their doorstep at the slightest "unfounded" suspicion of anything, thinking there is anti-government activity going on_belief me I know what I'm talking about_and that being now in a free country they just "explode" in freedom-showing antics. Believe it or not, they act more or les in the same manner in their communist country and in these past few years have even overturned vehicles, set things on fire, and thrown rocks at buses simply because they no longer have space for more passenger! And yes, I also know many were indeed terrified up to three decades ago and had all the reason in the world to feel precisely that way. So, being a close observer I notice that many, many people in the U.S. believe they are being spied on by the government, or by corporations, the IRS, the FBI even! Granted that IRS has to keep on eye on people not reporting taxes (this is their job), and that FBI keeps a close eye (sometimes) on certain persons w/ terrorist or other criminal past or potential for it. And, yes it is no secret that both political parties have used FBI and other law enforcement against their political enemies whenever it has been possible. But really, what makes so many in this country have such paranoid ideas? To any person with less persecutorial ideas, having eBay bid-watchers not watch the item any longer or not buy it after keeping eye on it, it only translates to any of the other reasons: no longer interest in items, forgetting about the bid (and not reading Ebay's reminder about it), running out of money to buy it, or the fact that person has found out by doing search on internet that that particular item is much more available, and thus not making it a unique, scarce, or rare item any longer. Aside the fact that there are many who are mentally ill, many of whom unfortunately go without necessary medical care, it seems that most people in the U.S. have come to accept paranoidal behavior as something normal. Please, point out the weak points in my thinking? Stephen Paul, thanks for compliment; I used to be an avid reader of Sherlock, and absolutely loved 98% of Agatha Christies 80 + books!!! But, I am serious in question posted, because it is sad that so much of this behavior goes on, and people practically cannot live a normal life. By the way I didn't know that a posted answer could be changed afterward in Yahoo: My above "additional details" was directed at your first answer Stephen Paul!
Is it proper etiquette to give a gift from an antique store for a housewarming? I'm invited to a housewarming party, and they have a really unique place...very eclectic and retro. I thought I would find something interesting at one of those thrift/antique/catch-all type shops. I was going to browse some stores in this small town that have all kinds of items. It is obvious the gift will not be new, they are not living in a fancy house at all...it's a very old house they are renting and their style is all over the place. I was thinking a vase or ashtray from the 1960s maybe a candy dish...something retro and funky. Do you wrap a gift like that in fancy paper? Is it appropriate to give this type of gift? One more thing, nothing about this event is formal, their place is super casual and the partygoers will be wearing shorts and flip flops.
Feather Hair extensions? I plan on getting feather hair extensions... they're the latest hair trend, they're really unique and fashionably, and now they're sold at sephora for a surprisingly cheap price ( only $25 a package, not bad, ESPECIALLY for sephora.) the brand is sultra, and you can dry them, straighten them and curl them, so basically the same stuff you can do to your natural hair, you can do with the extensions. i expect them to be good quality, because sephora carries high-quality items. these are the ones i want to purchase: http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?id=P289007&categoryId=RVP So i've given all the details, now here's my questions: 1) my natural hair texture is curly, but they are loose and kind of shaped like big S's. most of the pictures i've seen have girls with straightened hair or naturally straighter hair than mines, and since i def. wont be straightening out my hair anytime in the summer, (im going on vacation to see family in puerto rico, where it rains alot, is extremely hot, and i will probably sweat alot. that's a frizz-fest waiting to happen lol!) do you think the extensions will look nice with my natural hair texture? 2) i know when i purchase the extensions they'll have further care directions with it, but i wanna know before-hand, how can i best keep my extensions maintained through the summer, and after summer ends? (i want sport them for my freshman year of high school; i want something new and they're unique so i doubt anyone will have them.) 3) what colors of hair extensions would contrast well with natural pitch black colored hair? thx for taking the time to answer! (:
Does Jailbreaking your Ipod touch break it??? In the details box its says so?? Is it true? Like this dude said: If you have to ASK then there is a high risk you'll muck it up!! Don't do it.. with 3.1.2 the ONLY jailbreak that works is blackra1n and thats a dirty tethered jailbreak (on late 2nd gen ipods, all 3rd gen ipods and iphone 3GS - other earlier models should be untethered by now on RC No 3 (dec 09) version) meaning if you reset your ipod or it crashed it wont restart until you connect it back to the computer and blackra1n.. Jail breaking also voids the warranty and does cause many issues from files vanishing, memory leaks and loss, rebooting and even failing to boot. Also once its jailbroken you can only add jailbroken or copy protection free media or apps as its altered the boot code and NOT recognised as a valid ipod on iTunes so wont load (from itunes on the computer) NEW apps and NEW protected items (apps, video or DRM music). YOU CAN load itunes Plus music and stuff you import from CD or MP3 or AAC files etc... or try and use apps store or itunes on the device itself!! go to the site you got the jailbreak from for their links for apps if thats your thing. NEVER JAILBREAK its NOT worth the effort or the RISK. you know that 75% of jailbreaks fail! either immediately or after a few restarts - this will require a restore in itunes and reapplication of a jailbreak - however if your'e unlucky a restore in itunes will NOT fix it and its bricked and dead (probably 5 to 10% suffer this) if you have a PC and its doesn't restore get a friend who has a mac to try as sometimes that can work! the 2.2 or 3.1 software from apple is stable and works well and lets you add hundreds of apps (many free) from the itunes App Store, many with features available in jailbroken items. Jailbroken ipods cause so many problems (just search on here for them). It alters the boot code so its not really an ipod at all. and for this reason I advise people NOT to jailbreak unless they can afford to replace the unit!! Jail breaking effectively became redundant when the 2.0 software was released as it add almost nothing useful to the ipods abilities (other than the ability to browse its file structure which also makes it less secure - the common risk only if you have the SSH added and don’t change your password then hackers can read and erase your device at will or add items without your knowing) also jailbreaking removes many system security features making it open to trojans (see news) and any files you have on it by ‘say’ air-sharing app etc will be hackable too! it WILL also result in IM apps giving your messages to everyone with the same jailbreak on the same network (and you getting their replies) as jailbreaking removes the unique encryption key to each device and places it with a common one for that jailbreak. naturally by removing the encryption key its possible hack into a jailbroken ipod on the same network as the hacker (assuming they know the key) and read your files.. it also allows malicious apps such as 113prep to be loaded which then kill many files on your system. Best option is to remove the jailbreak by restoring the ipod on your computer but NOT connected to internet and make sure you have a full power USB2 port as low power laptop ports can cause the restore to fail and kill the ipod. So... with itunes running reset your ipod (its the home and power key until screen goes blank with dark apple logo). then as soon as the screen lights up connect it to computer.

What do you think of this outfit? There are a few staples to this outfit that I absolutely love. They are oxfords, a slightly oversized cardigan, and a large cami. So please feel free to tell me what you think of this outfit. I'll probably be wearing it often. Also if you think you can come up with something unique I'd love to see it so feel free to share your own style. I just love it because I can get it in a size large to make it a little longer and looser which is exactly the kind of look I'm going for. Not to sure what color to get though. Any suggestions? Top 2: http://www.aeropostale.com/product/index.jsp?productId=11453044&cp=3534618.3534619.3534623.3541050.3536151.2038745 this solid v-neck boyfriend cardigan will go well with the shoes as well as the bottoms. I like it because it's a very close color to the color on the shoes and I can get this in a size larger to make it look more oversized. This cardigan in oatmeal heather. Shoes: http://store.delias.com/item.do?itemID=56278 I love these shoes in the tan multi color. For some reason I just love oxfords and these will go very well with the cardigan. Last but not least accessories. Clearing Browser (IE7) Cache not working? Hi, I am using an open source content management system and I am having a problem that is unique to Internet Explorer (v7). Specifically, when I update the content of my site and save my changes, although the website accurately reflects my changes, when I go back to view the content item in the administrator portion of my site, the changes are not reflected. Only when I go to Tools -> Internet Options --> Browsing -> Delete Temporary Internet Files will the latest changes appear. The browser seems to be caching old values every time I make a change to the content of my site. My settings are such that the browser is configured to look for a new version of the site on each visit to the webpage. I have confirmed that this is not an issue with Firefox, just Internet Explorer. Any ideas? I have tried the "Delete All" option under browsing in IE7 and this works ONLY for the current session. When I make changes to my content again and save the changes, I reload the page and it is cached with the old value. So, I need a more viable solution than this.
