Should I do a master in Marketing or Creative Advertising? I'm a Graphic Designer with a design degree and I'm looking to go back to do a postgraduate degree. I want to start a company that involves design, branding and incorporate it with long term marketing strategy. It's mainly graphic design and rebranding. No motion design. This university only have either Marketing (no Creative Advertising) or Creative Advertising (not much marketing subject). I'm a bit confuse with the difference as I thought Creative Advertising is part of Marketing. Unless Creative Advertising is more to do with producing motion ads? I want to do creative industry but I want to learn about marketing. I can only choose one degree! Which one should I choose? What is the major different? (for e.g why can't they join the two degree together) Do you honestly think I should KILL myself because I asked a question? Really I deserve death just to ask? I asked for people who knows the difference to give me a better insight so I can choose. Geez
Is it possible to learn the "Adobe Creative Suite" on your own ? The new Adobe design CS5 package - Adobe Creative Suite 5 Master Collection (the toned down version is Adobe Creative Suite 5 - Design Premium) Includes: •Adobe Photoshop® CS5 Extended •Adobe Illustrator® CS5 •Adobe InDesign® CS5 •Adobe Acrobat® 9 Pro •Adobe Flash® Catalyst™ CS5 •Adobe Flash Professional CS5 •Adobe Flash Builder™ 4 •Adobe Dreamweaver® CS5 •Adobe Fireworks® CS5 •Adobe Contribute® CS5 •Adobe Premiere® Pro CS5 •Adobe After Effects® CS5 •Adobe Soundbooth® CS5 •Adobe Encore® CS5 •Adobe OnLocation™ CS5 Besides the usual print, web, interactive, and mobile design, it also offers video production and create stunning motion graphics and effects. Now I want to ask is it possible for one to learn the creative suite on their own just from reading books and internet, do you require a background training in visual arts or graphic design in order to know how to use the functions inside 'Adobe creative suites' ? Are these specialty softwares (e.g. 'Quicken' is for Accoutants) made for professional graphic designers or video producers, so an outsider should have background trainings first before they even think of gettin their hands on it or are they open for all users ? I find these Adobe softwares and the design outputs generated by them fascinating so that's why I want to know if i can learn it on my own.

Is it normal to question my major in college? I am at a rigorous art school right now as a sophomore in the Motion Design Department. I had an anxiety attack last night and have been very emotional today because of doubting myself and my major. We do a lot of critiques in class so I see the other classmates' work and i catch myself comparing my work to theirs. I am not a fantastic drawer or a stellar computer techy, but I have great passion for Design and am great with concepts and creative ideas. I've been questioning whether I should continue my design major. I think it could be me thinking of a way around hard work that I know I must do, but I am wondering if it is normal for a college student to doubt their major every now and then? Anyone had a similar experience or have advice? Thank youuuuu
How do I stop a non-profit from using my creative work? I am a creative professional. During a course of 8 months, as a volunteer for a start-up non-profit, I produced a large body of creative work - a logo, a slogan, a website, a printed brochure I designed utilizing graphics I created, and some written articles, all which has established an image highly beneficial to the organization and, I can demonstrate, contributed to their success. I spent approx 200 hrs of free time in this endeavor. It was not work for hire. I was not an employee. No contracts were drawn up. No documents regarding terms of use were drawn up. It was not given as a charitable donation. I can document I was the sole creator, and that the organization acknowledged me as such. Therefore, I assert that I am the sole copyright owner of this body of work. Parts of this body of work appear on printed materials, electronic media, social networking websites, and clothing and accessories. Relationships soured when new officers took over and I have been ill-treated and since ceased all affiliation with the group. Given my altruistic nature, there appears to be an assumption that I will simply hand over this body of work for their use. No officer has even approached me about negotiating fair use; I have been treated without respect despite my outstanding contributions as a volunteer, or even with common courtesy. I desire to sever all ties with them, including refuse them to use any part of this body of creative work. I do not wish to hurt them financially, nor due I wish to incur significant legal fees in proceeding with this matter. How do I proceed? Do I file for a motion for a court to order an injunction, or file for an injunction myself? This is a small matter, as I do not seek financial compensation, apart from filing fees, if I am entitled to reimbursement for these. I seek only to forbid them to use any part of this body of work. Can I seek to make them stop distributing the brochures? Can I seek to make them stop selling items with the logo on them? Thank you for your time. There is a legal definition for donation: it has to be explicitly granted in a written document. They did not contract with me for use. Therefore, it is solely their negligence that they did not do so. As I stated, it was not sold to them. It was not work for hire. I was not an employee. It was not donated to them - there was no written or oral contract. I was merely a volunteer. At this point I cannot accuse them of stealing it; they will be made aware that they are infringing on my copyright. If they continue to use any part of it, I will take the legal action "PooPooLa" has thoughtfully recommended. I do not desire monetary compensation of any kind; I just don't want them using my work.
My mom discouraging me for a future career I desire? I want to be a multimedia artist: its a very interactive career where it has the art and writing I want. Plus, the technology involved in it I find vital for the near future ( hence: "technology is the new future" or something like that). My point Is its a job where I can be creative and interact with other creative people. Plus, ere are many multimedia art professions out there I can choose from: motion picture design, video game design, animation feature design, cartoonist etc. There's even a multimedia art-based company ran by Kurt Shillings called 38 studios that would be perfect for me (my location and what's included in the company). My mom says a job like this is a socially deprived job that only people who consist of a dull personality and poor social skills would go to. She even went on about how technology immigrants (hence my generation, I'm 15) will be the most socially deprived people because of phones, computers, apple(patent mark that should be there XP) technology, and everything related to the things we have today. What do you think about my situation and my moms opinion on technology and how it'll affect us?
Can a designer be Christian? Hello, I'm a fledging designer specializing in motion graphics and broadcast design. I am just having thoughts that the nature of my job feels "unChristian" and I not talking about the socialogy of the creative industry. The idea of having to network among people seems to be pulling me away from God. Can a designer achieve success without selling my soul? A designer is to create ideas, make graphics and do animation in my case. First and foremost, it is communicate an idea. One prime example is the title sequence for Desperate Housewives. Bree accepts her son's homosexuality. If I created the graphics, wouldn't I be encouraging more people into watching this show? Design work is a scarce commodity and it is insane to turn down an accepted pitch.

hwk help!!? WHAT WOULD BE A GOOD CONCLUSION FOR THIS PAPER??? “He more than any other, embodies the idea of the “Renaissance Man,” a person who versed in many different fields of knowledge and endeavor.” He, in this quote is from the International Dictionary of Art and Artists, refers to the great, the brilliant and the one who’s worth remembering, Leonardo da Vinci. He has influenced a great number of people to paint, to design buildings, to engineer, to think. He showed people through colors. He taught us how to look at the world through his wondering eyes. Leonardo da Vinci, also known as Leonardo di Ser Piero da Vinci, was born on 1452, during the Renaissance period. His mother was a peasant girl and his father was a lawyer. Da Vinci was a painter, engineer, botanist, and an anatomist. He enjoyed and he was fascinated in how the human body performed. He loved studying horses and he was very fascinated in flight. The scientific theory and the practical used of science was another interest as well. In addition to learning human anatomy, da Vinci also studied frogs, pigs, oxen, monkeys, dogs, lions. He had a technical art, which may have begun in Florence, Italy, when he was an apprentice. He did not know Latin. He learned it later in Milan. Da Vinci’s father apprenticed him to one great artist in Florence, Andréa del Verrocchio, when Da Vinci was fourteen years old. Leonardo’s training with Andréa was done in 1472, when Leonardo was around twenty years old. Leonardo was not the only apprentice there. Lorenzo di Credi, Sandro Botticilli, and Pietro Perugio are just some of the names of the people who were there. “He is described as tall and handsome, graceful in all his actions, and apparently had a good singing voice, and the official records show that he was accused once of some homosexual scrape” (Bronowski 186). He began his notebooks when he was thirty years old. Da Vinci recorded his thoughts, his ideas and his designs in notes. His thoughts were also delivered in designs or drawings. His drawings mostly showed the study of humans, nature and machines. He used two ways to express himself. He used mirror writing and he was being creative yet hard to understand what he wrote. Mirror writing is writing backwards, right to left. It is not a secret handwriting. His notes were about anatomy of horses, perpetual motion and a deluge. A deluge is a huge flood of water. He dissected a baby in a drawing. The image on the left was drawn to give an example of how the human figure looks like. Leonardo painted a lot of things. His most remembered painting is the Mona Lisa. The Mona Lisa is a piece of a mystery. She comprises the “dream –like quality as elusive as the woman herself” mentions the International Dictionary of Art and Artists. Both the landscape and the Mona Lisa are mystic. Mona Lisa embodies a great model that represents the parallelism between women and landscape. Some people believe the lady in the painting is the wife of Florence banker, some believe she is the wife of Francesco del Giocondo, or some believe that she is a man in disguise. She sits on a veranda. Her glance observes you; it follows you where ever you go. The Mona Lisa is a good example of Leonardo’s study of landscape and human anatomy. Leonardo da Vinci was and still is a great man. Through his years, he influenced the word. He will be always remembered and so will his precious artwork.

Part 1 of my 'ideal school' essay.? I wrote this essay for a contest. how's my 'ideal school'? My ideal school would be a boarding school, placed in a great city named Venheimen, far-far in the future. My ideal school would have around 2000 students and be named Morgan Aniston Secondary Boarding School, after the great man who founded the city. In my fictional universe, education starts at the age of 6 and ends at 16, with the option of university for the graduates. Students from the age of 6 to 11 go to primary school, where they would take the Primary School Examination (PSE) which will decide which secondary school they would go to. Students 12 to 16 go to secondary school and take the Secondary School Examination (SSE) at the age of 16. In my ideal school, classes start at 9am and finish at around 4pm, with lunch at noon lasting 1 hour. Friday classes end 1 hour early. Students study compulsory subjects such as English, Mathematics, Additional Mathematics, Science, Astrology, Computer Technology, World History, Basic Geography and Creative Art and have a choice to study elective courses such as French, Chinese, German, Biology, Chemistry, Advanced Computer Technology, Advanced Geography, Space Research, Business Studies, Music and Professional Art. Students are required to take at least 2 elective courses. Creativity is highly encouraged among students in the school. Students create an endless stream of new inventions, letting their dreams come to life, though not all of which are positive and work well. Once, a group of boy students built a war robot to battle against another team’s robot. The robot went awry, grabbing a hair design and fashioning machine made by a group of girl students and started hitting everyone on the head with it. To end the situation, a group of teachers and students hit the robot on the head with sledgehammers and mallets. The robot returned the hair design and fashioning machine to its creators, who were given such a bad haircut they had to be warded for shock. There is a computer room with virtual-reality computers where the internet is an interactive space one can delve in. Antivirus programs are virtual rifles held in one’s hand shooting corrupt files and viruses. Games are played with eye goggles and motion sensor gloves. The virtually unlimited number of games forced the school to limit computer time to 2 hours a week on weekends because students were spending 20 hours a day in the computer lab. This has upset many students. There is a hair salon for girls where they change their hair to any style and colour they want. Every Friday there are arms training lessons given to all students at 3pm. This is because all healthy 17 years olds have to go for military service for 1 year. They are taught the art of Gunkata, martial arts with weapons, the notoriously difficult art of avoiding an enemy’s weapon fire and firing your gun, practiced with click guns. Unarmed combat training is also given, causing a worrying trend of kung fu fights in the halls and full hospital wings every Friday. The secondary objective for arms training is to relieve the stress the students feel after a weeks worth of classes and homework. Students are free to leave the school on weekends and wander around the city or return home as long as they are back by 8pm on Sunday. Students are strictly forbidden from borrowing live weapons from the arms locker at all times. Breakfast consists of buttered toast, oatmeal, porridge, cereal, eggs, sausages and jam with coffee. Lunch, Steamed rice, cornmeal, bread, chicken, fish, vegetables and potatoes, whereas dinner is a hearty affair of lamb chops, roast chicken, vegetables and potatoes with Yorkshire pudding. The students select their desired meal on computer screens and their order will be served within 2 minutes. Students are allowed to be creative with their food as well, creating many awkward, strange and downright disgusting combinations of food. Instant noodles were served when there was a feast and everyone finished everything in the kitchens save for nissin noodles. A breakdown in communication (the telephone broke, and no one could call telecoms) ensured hearty meals of noodles 3 times a day for a week. There was a decrease in interest in noodles among all students. Students are also allowed to cook their own meals during cooking classes once a week to improve their skills. Many students found their hidden talent, creating exceptional meals of great taste, while many others find that their talents lay elsewhere, because their cooking was utterly repulsive. Once some students made Beef Wellington using a real, stinking Wellington boot stuffed with old beef they bought from a bargain bin and fried in mashed potato gravy, the smell of which caused 5 students to faint and 1 teacher poisoned because she was forced to try it, and let us not talk of the time someone tried to make a Baked Alaskan. Students are required to spend 2 hours a day in study rooms,

More of my story, opinions? goes with my previous question? Elliot wasn't someone I was waiting for. He wasn’t someone I thought I needed. And most of all Elliot’s arrival into my life was improvised. I don’t remember little things about our friendship like: the first time I ever saw Elliot, the first time I looked at his gorgeous hazel eyes, or the first time I heard his laugh. But I do remember the day we met and how accidental our friendship came to be. My favorite memories stem from the summer vacations I shared with my family at our beach house. The little shack we own sits directly on the Atlantic Ocean. And while our house is tiny and old, the view we have is priceless and is one of the only reasons we still own the run down place. In the summers my whole family would travel out to the South Carolina shore. Mom would stuff our minivan full of suitcases and more food than necessary for the six hour drive to our beach house. We always left at the crack of dawn so we could get there just as the sun reached the highest point of the day. We spent our summers in bathing suits and sand in our hair. It was magical. This summer changed everything. My three siblings and I picked our favorite seats of our van and fall asleep before we were out of Tennessee. I have no recollection of my parents waking us up when we were getting close to our beach house. There was an automatic trigger, the salty ocean air hitting our noses, which always woke us up. It’s something that we have all grown to not notice. Before my dad could stop our van completely, my siblings and I were racing down to the beach. Items of clothing being stripped off with every running step we took, until we were down to our bathing suits. The suits we wore under our clothes every year. My older twin brother and sister, Anders and Stella, always reached the beach first. They are highly competitive, especially with one another. They sloshed through the water and glided in belly down. My younger brother, Liam, and I reached the shore a few paces behind the twins. I gently eased into the ocean and floated around daintily. As I crawled out of the water I noticed a boy sitting on the beach creating a design out of seashells. There was sand between his toes and his hair was a matted mess. But something about him caused me to pause and observe. The seashells were forming, what looked like, a rather complicated maze. An idea of that manner would never cross my mind. I slowed down my pace so I could get a closer look. Yes, he was definitely making a maze out of seashells. “Hey, why are you making a maze?” I ask curiously. “Is this how you always introduce yourself, by criticizing someone’s creative work?” he responds arrogantly. Not knowing what to say, I turn around, mutter a- hole under my breath, and head towards home. “Wait, don’t leave yet. My name’s Elliot.” I turn back around, and pause before I say something hasty. Now that I’m actually looking at him, Elliot is quite an attractive guy. Even with his matted hair, full of sand, and his somewhat awkward and lanky stature. “I should get home; my parents get worried when I’m in the ocean too long.” “Well, do you have time to tell me your name? Just in case we ever run into each other again, I’ll be able to say hello.” I shrug my shoulders and smile slyly as I continue on home. I turn around when I’m about twenty paces away from Elliot. “I guess you’ll just have to say hello anyway.” I break into an easy jog and don’t stop until I reach our front door. I tumble into our tiny mud room and slip my squeaky flip flops off. I’m walking into our bright kitchen when I hear a light tap at the door. I skip back to the door and throw it open. There Elliot stands with a huge grin on his face. He does an awkward waving motion and stares into my eyes, waiting for me to say something. Maybe this was the moment I noticed his gorgeous eyes. “Can I help you?” I say trying to sound annoyed. But I am actually forcing my smile away. No one has ever chased after me when I wouldn’t tell them my name. It’s probably good no one has though, that could be creepy. “Right, okay.” He pauses, and takes a deep breath before sputtering out, “My name is Elliot, and I live in the cute little shack 50 steps away from your cute beach house. Since we’re neighbors, it would make sense that you tell me your name as well, right?” I laugh and smile, “Well, that does make perfect sense. I’m Analeigh. I live in a cute beach house 50 steps, apparently, away from your cute little shack. It’s nice to meet you.” He smiles wide, “it’s very nice to meet you as well, sea Analeigh.” “Right, well that’s a new one. Will you answer my question now? What was up with the seashell maze? Not because it was weird but I just would never think to make something like that out of seashells.” An extremely long pause followed my question. Pauses’ like that always make me nervous. There’s still silence after 30 seconds. Crap! Why do I ask such stupid questions?

Hate my job, but need to do well.? I took a technical job that I genuinely thought I would like, but I hate it. Details are below if you're interested. The main thing is, I am committed to this job for 3 more years and I really want to do well. I want to contribute, and hold up my end of the bargain. However, I hate it. I dread going to work. I'm miserable when I'm there. If I were doing manual labor, I could just force my body to perform the motions, but it's so much harder to force my mind to concentrate. Does anyone have practical advice for overcoming a situation like this? Mental tricks, strategies, tactics? Note: I CANNOT quit. Details: I'm creative, but my work requires no design, only oversite, paperwork, and audits. I am not averse to hard work, but I prefer blasts of intense, almost frantic activity, followed by slow periods. This job is just a daily grind, no ups, no downs. Also, the corporate culture does not suit my personality. I used to be enlisted in the military and was used to a crude but fraternal environment with lots of different personality types and backgrounds. This office is extremely homogenous (politically, ethnically, educationally, and by gender). It is rather formal, and people tend not to work together on things outside of formal meetings.
Can creationists be scientists? Although evolutionists interpret the evidence in light of their belief in evolution, science works perfectly well without any connection to evolution. Think about it this way: is a belief in molecules-to-man evolution necessary to understand how a computer works, how planets orbit the sun, how telescopes operate, or how plants and animals function? Has any biological or medical research benefited from a belief in evolution? No, not at all. In fact, the Ph.D. cell biologist (and creationist) Dr. David Menton, who speaks at many conferences, has stated, “The fact is that, though widely believed, evolution contributes nothing to our understanding of empirical science and thus plays no essential role in biomedical research or education.' It is because God created a logical, orderly universe and gave us the ability to reason and to be creative that technology is possible. How can a belief in evolution (a belief that complex biological machines do not require an intelligent designer) aid in the development of complex machines which are clearly intelligently designed? Technology has shown us that sophisticated machines require intelligent designers—not random chance. Science and technology are perfectly consistent with the Bible. Consider Isaac Newton, who co-discovered calculus, formulated the laws of motion and gravity, computed the nature of planetary orbits, invented the reflecting telescope and made a number of discoveries in optics. Consider Johannes Kepler, who discovered the three laws of planetary motion, or James Clerk Maxwell who discovered the four fundamental equations that light and all forms of electromagnetic radiation obey. These great scientists believed the Bible. so, back to the question, can creationists be scientists? Today , there are many Ph.D. scientists who reject evolution and instead believe that God created in six days as recorded in Scripture. Consider Dr. Russ Humphreys, a Ph.D. nuclear physicist who has developed (among many other things) a model to compute the present strength of planetary magnetic fields4 which was able to predict the field strengths of the outer planets. Did a belief in the Bible hinder his research? No. God created our minds and gave us the ability and curiosity to study the universe. we can trust that the universe will obey the same physics tomorrow as it does today because God is consistent. This is why science is possible. On the other hand, if the universe is just an accidental product of a big bang, why should it be orderly? Why should there be laws of nature if there is no lawgiver? If our brains are the by-products of random chance, why should we trust that their conclusions are accurate? But if our minds have been designed, and if the universe has been constructed by the Lord as the Bible teaches, then of course we should be able to study nature. science is possible because the Bible is true. Dr Raymond V. Damadian would probably be too humble to accept the title ‘super-scientist’ but the many people whose lives have been saved by the MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) scanning technology he developed might think otherwise. one of the greatest diagnostic breakthroughs ever, this technique, using advanced principles of physics and computing, lets doctors visualize many organs and their diseased parts without the risks of exploratory surgery or the radiation associated with traditional scanning methods. A Bible-believing Christian, this great inventor is convinced of the scientific truth of Genesis creation and its foundational importance to church and society. Faith, I know but I'm trying . God bless you sister. yes Leviah I agree. and thank you sis. lab girl, you have insulted a lot of people who are close to my heart. to bad all you could come up with is a childish insult,I would have expected better of you.(or maybe not)
Questions about becoming involved in Cybergoth subculture and how to meet new people? First I need to mention just so everyone knows I am 26 yrs old and have disabilities related to birth that affects the way I learn things in life as having social anxiety. I have some questions on becoming involved in the cybergoth subculture and how to go about meeting new people. I want to attend the club scene but I know I have to dress the proper attire before doing so. I’d like to meet other cyber Goths and become part of the subculture. I know I already have a strong passion for the music specifically electronic industrial, dark electro, powernoise and Ebm. I have a profile listed on Last.Fm dedicated to the music I listen to and shows all my plays and groups I am listed in. I am very much attracted to the fashion of the subculture as well. I think the neon colors against neutral black are unique and to me describe a dark side of life but yet the colors represent openness and a colorful personality. Ive seen various pictures of other Goths and designs online that fascinate me, I just don’t know the proper method to purchase band shirts and pants. How do I go about buying the specific clothing and other appeal? How about those cool looking colored contacts? In the past ive bought colored Auevue. But where do you get say red, white and black ones? How about the hair styles? I know falls are synthetic dreads. I love the crazy colorful hair styles. What places or websites do you recommend? I have read it I will have to invest tons of money into doing this. Is this true? If so I’m willing to do this but I don’t want to spend thousands of dollars. As everyone else I am no exception to not being budget. Is it really ok to buy things from department stores, thrift stores even wal mart? I read hot topic has cheap quality and poser clothes? I do not see as many cyber goth guys as I do women…is it not a popular fashion with guys? I’d like to meet people who like shopping for appeal and design outfits and know more detail about do it yourself design like sewing. I have been known in the past as to be a creative person and know clothing is do it yourself is much more unique to the subculture. I also have been artist I enjoyed drawing and was very big into art and the museums. I used to read as a kid all the time. My intellectual skills are here and there. I feel that society wrote me off as an outcast and I know I am different. In school I was humiliated and stereotyped against. As a kid, teen and now adult I had very few friends growing up and mostly have kept to myself. I don't go anywhere or really network with people. Thus after researching about the goth culture and cyber goth subculture brings me to believe I am the right fit. As far as industrial dance goes it looks very neat. I have watched tons of videos on industrial dance and read that the dance inherits several earlier electronic dance elements, such as Krumping, Hustle, Vogue, Electro and Waving. Also featuring Poi art or Glowsticking? Tecktonik is a derivate of the dance. Is there a repetitive form behind this? I read a lil about these forms and am having a hard time understanding all the different moves involved. I Saw a tutorial on industrial dance the person indicated each person has there own style with arm and leg motions? So is the dance just free style meaning you just go with the flow and the motions you make are not in a specific sequence? I am trying to learn the definitions behind all of the industrial music sub genres but to me it is very difficult. Do I need to know this or should I just enjoy the music without worry? My thoughts are if I can’t differentionate when it comes to the music say for instance aggrotech and ebm ill be ridiculed and made fun of? I also can not recall song names very well. This also goes for learning about and recalling the entire background of goth culture. I’ve read so much about the culture it’s very hard to take in. All I know is I’ve read that the scene is mostly about the fashion and music in which I know I have a passion for. I just don’t want people to think of me as a fake or want to be goth. Obviously I’ve done what research I could to learn what I can. Now I would like the opportunity for people within the goth culture to step forward, meet me and show me as well as teach me about it. DO NOT POST NEGATIVE COMMENTS OR FEEDBACK OR YOU WILL BE REPORTED!!! THANK YOU!!! THIS QUESTION PERTAINS TO MATURE ADULTS ONLY!!! SORRY KIDS (TEENS) YOU HAVE NO SAY IN THIS AS YOUR GENERATION SEEMS IGNORANT AND DISRESPECTFUL!!!
The Importance of the -Internet Piracy Bill-? PIRACY not PRIVACY. Have you ever wondered why it costs $10, $13, $15 bucks a ticket for a movie? or why blockbuster shut down? or why YouTube is going insane over copyright infringement? or even why actors and actresses & musicians seem to get filthy rich and blow it all on drugs and desires? The scare is that it will cause internet censorship. (Less Porn, No Torrents, Less Free stuff) as an internet user that seems horrible but that's because we've become rather selfish because of the capability's it holds. Does anybody know how many people to make a Motion PIcture? or how much it takes? most probably guess millions. Well films usually have 4 sections Above the line - Creative talent Below the line - Direct Costs Post Production - distribution, ads, rentals, critics, events, Insurance here are some jobs and estimated salaries Producers Writers Screen writers Script coordinators Script supervisors DIrector First Assistant Director Second Assistant Director Make up artists set designers painters drivers unit supervisor transportation crew Stunt men/women visual effects supervisor special effects supervisor foley artists tech specialist editor construction crew camera operators actors/actresses distribution - making the cases, DVDs, Pictures, bonus stuff, ads, commercials, description. publicist ect... (that's not including what they have to buy, like cars, clothing, equipment, lights, explosives, permits, furniture ect...) movies at this point may seem stupid or lacking realism or predicable. but the truth is movies have the same potential life has. it's the recreation of life, for the first time a story can become so vivid that it feels real. we can SHOW our imaginations or desires or beliefs or teachings, or any events you can ever think of. without movies or music all of our lives would be very different. the internet would probably not exist. and the tv would never exist we all would know A LOT LESS. (the truth would be harder to find) books aren't better. they aren't worse either. they are very different because a film project the story almost as if its hallucination or a dream, sometimes as a real life witness. Books tell a story through written language and you imagine your own visuals and sounds based on your own imagination and understanding (which may be dry or lacking and films can help you dream of it) don't you think they deserve to be Paid for their hard Creative work? it's possible the prices may go down, and better stories will show. the infringement may actually have caused many to hold back and make cheap crappy films designed to maximize revenue . same with music.
Does this TOOOO have Two many Oh's? Complicated Stuff Explained Original poem by Frederic (Parens by Happy Hiram) When I consider how the world unfolds (Like a cardboard version made of purile words) And that half of its time is spent in dark (Desperately seeking a creative curve.) How do we understand from black life's spark? (When the telling of it ain't elucidatin'.) As time in motion brings new life untold (For thematic pace, we are still waitin'.) Dare I dwell on nature's designs, or prayer? (Dare you dwell on anything less boring?) Should I serve petrified words from Gods? (with a Greek chorus of my audience snoring?) As time circles the frightened world we trod; (cliches, bad scansion, archaism - how odd;) or wars virus, humanities slayer (A meaningless line, read like pompous sod.) Will time bury our bones as those before? (Or will we just bury ourselves like self-basting hams?) When man was born in caves with painted hands (and some there still write "running deer" anagrams) Where life was as young as white ocean sands (Before poets had the capacity to bore.) And passing seasons was a hungered* store (Were for was, *but God knows what that adjective's for.)   Had darkness not been half our life time spent; (trying to decipher what Plutarch here meant;) Would we have changed our selfish minds content? (Am I satisfied or filled? Which content was his intent?) The original poem: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Aj.gE.V99zxMKfL52Ol3Jx.n5HNG;_ylv=3?qid=20111013122340AAwMc8w I don't waste my time on hacks (except maybe Neon-Sahib) but Frederic only wants roses so he blocks me out. It makes me mad that one of the best on here is so spineless. It makes me sad too. (My own poem I mean.)

Need help with which university course to choose (going down cgi job route)? So I want to get a job in the film industry as one of the cgi/special effects sort of people, but i'd also like to know enough to be able to create my own films in my free time I'm not sure which course sounds better, this one is a lot closer Level 4 (Year 1) Digital photography for visual effects, basic still compositing, animation fundamentals, filmmaking and intro to 3D modelling and animation in Maya. Level 5 (Year 2) Compositing and rotoscoping, motion graphics, matchmoving, shooting with green screens, more Maya, introduction to Mel scripting (& python) and rendering for photo finish Level 6 (Year 3) Advanced 3D lighting, more Mel script, shooting for VFX, final year project and advanced compositing. Career opportunities: jobs including compositors, rotoscoping artists, 3D animators, 3D riggers, visual effects producers, and visual effects supervisors and this one is a hell of a lot further away Year 1: Design Process, 2D Design, Digital Design, 3D Visualisation, Digital Video, Design Context. Year 2: Animation, 3D Modelling, Portfolio Production, Interactive Media Programming, Motion Graphics. Year 3: Lighting and Rendering Techniques, Advanced Animation, Individual Project, Group Project, Advanced Portfolio Production, Advanced 3D Modelling. Year 4: Honours Project, Real-time 3D Graphics, Technical Animation, Industrial Project. Note: Year 1 is common to a number of other creative courses within the division of Computing and Creative Technology and is designed to give the student the opportunity to explore a range of creative disciplines. This offers the student the possibility of changing to one of these other courses at the start of Year 2. Career opportunities: such as 3D animator, 3D modeller, game animator, architectural visualisation artist, 3D graphic designer, video SFX artist and pre-visualisation artist for TV and film. Which one do you think would be the best?? Please don't say anything like 'do what feels right' or 'its entirely my choice and you shouldn't choose', I know it's my choice but i'm asking for your advice ;)

What do you think about these idiots that believe in God? " This thing [a scale model of our solar system] is but a puny imitation of a much grander system whose laws you know, and I am not able to convince you that this mere toy is without a designer and maker; yet you, as an atheist, profess to believe that the great original from which the design is taken has come into being without either designer or maker! help with proof reading, and creating a conclusion.. due in an hour so all help is greatly appreciatetd!? “Drawing has no beginning and no end. This presents a difficulty in learning to draw. As soon as there is one mark on the paper, even an accidental one, all the possibilities of drawing are immediately present. Drawing is no sequential. It is a process which requires seeing whole.” In the first chapter of our class textbook the connection between knowing the techniques to draw, and fastening them down on paper is identified. Perception is the key to success as it is the way we look at the subject matter. As we progress on our perception we can then refine our technical skills and therefore become better illustrators. To draw successfully one must evaluate the way in which they are creating their pieces. There is more to drawing the lines, so learning the correct way to create these lines are very important. Marks are the foundations of drawing. The quality of the marks and their structure with one another allows the viewer to distinguish one subject to another. The context of these structures tells the viewer how to look at the drawing. We may not agree with how the concept is being displayed but if we can understand its context then we can further understand the artist. Materials such as vine charcoal, compressed charcoal, and graphite are discussed and explained in this chapter. Knowing the materials recommended and how to use them will allow the artist to grow in knowledge and experience. Drawing may be about perception but becoming an artist is all about the connection between your hands, heart, and mind and allowing your eyes to connect to the world around you. What we see defines our artist’s vision, and our abilities to see differently allows for unique works of art. We as artists today create to help later generations understand our time period as well as encourage new forms of artistic expression. We often hear the terms fine art, and applied art and assume that they are the same thing. For an artist who creates solely for themselves, and free expression you could consider themselves fine artists. Applied art on the other hand is a term for creative work that fulfills a function like an assignment, or defined purpose. As an example illustration would be considered an applied art because a drawing needs to tell a specific story usually created by a reference or assigned concept. Just as illustration can be defined as applied it can also be the same for fine art. To some the Renaissance Period was a time in which expression through art took on a new light. Artists could now express their faith, and culture on paper. During the Renaissance, technology became more advanced and more available to the common public. The printing press was invented during this time which made it possible for books to be published, not hand written. Ideas of the Renaissance were spread in some of these books and common people could now own a copy of the bible. When photography was first invented, the cameras ability to “freeze” time fascinated the impressionists. The artists at that time no longer wanted to design the same things, but instead experiment with light and color. The impressionist art movement originated in France in the last quarter of the 19th century as a reaction against traditional art and its strict rules. A group of painters who became known as the Impressionists decided to gain independence from the standards set forth by the French Academy of Fine Arts but instead try new things. Unlike conservative painters who focused on portraying dramatic, often historical scenes with religious meaning, the Impressionists chose ordinary scenes from everyday life as the subject matter of their work. You become a better artist through the critique of others. To “critique” is the ability to give and receive positive and negative advice on your pieces of work. This process allows the artist to look at their work in a different way, and verbalize their feelings and thoughts about it. The idea of a critique is not to pass judgment on the work of others but accept criticism and learn from your mistakes. Critiques have personally allowed me to view the piece provided in a different way because the artist has had the ability to explain how and why they created what they did. Some things to look out for to critique would be how your eye moves throughout the composition, how the color and tons are used, texture of the surface, and the overall motion that the piece provides. “we are always free to reject the opinions of others if they clash with something we truly believe in, but it is wise to fully understand what they are saying before we decide.” In chapter three and chapter four the definition of drawing is discussed. Today drawing is considered to be just as equally important as any other artistic expression but that was not always the case. During the Renaissance period, drawing was based on a person’s skill, and was considered the most precious ability that an artist could have. Even with this respect t
