what career will earn more money a bathroom designer or marketing assistant? I'm undecided whether to take a job as a trainee bathroom designer or a marketing assistant, both are junior roles. Does anyone know which one has a better earning potential in the long run?
How much does a bathroom/kitchen designer make per year? I have a friend who is a bathroom/kitchen designer. He claims that before the economy took a dump he made 250,000 - 300,000 a year. He doesn't own the company or anything, and its not a huge one. Now he claims he can make 30,000 in one month. He works in the Kansas City area. He brags about it alot. Is he blowing smoke or do they really make that much?
Does anyone know how much a bathroom designer would charge? Is it by the hour? Or by the job? I'm trying to figure out if it is something I can even entertain. Also, any advice?
Is it best to use semi gloss or high gloss paint on kitchen cabinets and/or bathrooms walls? We are painting a new home and have a designer who suggests using high gloss paint in our bathrooms and on the paint grade kitchen cabinets (for easier cleaning). Our painter says that semi-gloss is better. Who's right?
A question about a salary for a bathroom designer? I recently graduated with a residential space planning & design associate's degree. The job I landed is a "Bathroom Designer." My responsibilities are, when the client comes in, to get a feel for their wants & needs in the new space. After this preliminary discussion/consultation, I go to their home and do measurements. I then come back to the office and put together an entire design for them...I draft a floor plan in AutoCAD, then print out the specs for all of my plumbing selections, paint selections, countertops, cabinetry, lighting, tile etc. Sometimes I even do rendered drawings of the space for the clients to visualize. Once everything is together, I meet with the clients again and present the design to them and also the pricing (so I do budgeting, technically, too.) We do this until the design is perfect for them (sometimes my first presentation hits the nail on the head, sometimes there are minor changes requested.) Once they are ready, we sign a contract and I schedule them with our contractor and tile installer for their project to begin. I fill out purchase orders for all of their materials and submit them to be ordered. Once construction starts, I spend a few hours each day on the job just overseeing everything and making sure everything is being installed how we wanted. My boss has told me repeatedly that I am the best designer they have had so far. I have sold 4 bathrooms (large budget, $25,000+) in the 3 months I have been there. However, I am at $10 an hour. I was promised a commission plan also, and that has not been put into effect yet. When I confronted him about it, he made me do some sort of math equation so that I know how much it costs them to employ me and what fees I am helping cover when I sell things, to keep the business running. I am getting very frustrated. I feel like I am worth way more than $10/hour. Am I being taken advantage of? Should I confront my boss again? I am grateful to have a job, but $10/hour hardly supports my family of 4!! My husband earns a decent wage but he will be going part time soon so that he can finish his degree in elementary ed (he has to begin student teaching soon). Wanted to add, I was promised a commission plan during my initial interview.

Could a graphic designer afford a nice house in California? Located in places like Palm Beach, San Diego, or Los Angeles. Nice house would be at least 3 bed rooms, at least 2 bathrooms. Modern, very nice neighborhood. Do you think they could?
Just bought a tiny little Chicago condo in 'as is' condition. Can I afford an interior designer? The place is in need of so much work. Such as; New doors. Tile for the kitchen and bathroom. Granite counter tops. Stainless Steel appliances. Finished wood flooring and I also want to turn my over-sized bedroom into a living room, and my tiny living room into a bedroom. Not to mention the fact that I have no furniture. Can an interior designer come in and take care of all of those things for me on a limited budget of under $7,000?
What is the color of this room? http://www.designer-bathrooms.livinghouse.co.uk/acatalog/line7b.jpg and please don't say grey, i would like to know what that kind of paint it's called. example. Jackson tan (thats the color i have now but it's just an example)
Websites for a Young (want to be) Interior Designer? I want to be an interior designer. If you have any that would help me learn about interior design or has tools to make floor plans and such (I have redesigned my room, our bathroom, and two friends' rooms) for a middle schooler? I don't care if there is a recession. By the time I'm done with college (according to Pres.Obama) it will all have blown over. What do you make of the Great Depression?
Dreaming of bathrooms - why? (No responses like "it means you have to pee" or "be a bathroom designer", please.) I've dreamt of all types of bathrooms over the years. I'll dream of: clean and dirty, big and small, luxurious and simple, single/house and group/dorm, realistic and completely crazy... At this point, I don't think anyone could come up with something new. The usual plot: I need to pee or shower. I grab my shower stuff, maybe keep forgetting things. People slip in ahead of me or I can't find an open stall/room. I lock the door/doors, but people continuously knock on the door/walk in/walk through/stop to talk. I usually wake up when I get so frustrated that I want to scream. What do you think? (One of my sisters said she sometimes has dreams like that, too.)

Do you have to be good at art to be an interior designer? Im majoring in art, but it's just not my thing. I'm not horrible at art, but not good enough to keep me going. I feel that interior design is my thing. I just remodeled my bathroom and people like it. I can do alright with drawing out room ideas. I know a lot of the layouts are done on the computer which I can do. Will I be ok with interior design then?
Are American Standard plumbing products of good quality? I recently graduated and landed a job as a bathroom designer. I am in the process of researching different products. I have noticed that American Standard is considerably less than brands such as Kohler, but I am wondering why? Are they quality products or are they cheaply made? I want to get my clients the most bang for their buck but I also want to put quality products in their homes that will last for years with little to no issues. Anyone who has any sort of knowledge in this area would be of a great help. Thanks!

Open Master Bedroom - no door on bathroom? My husband and I want to remodel our master bathroom (the bedroom is fine) but it's extremely tiny! Unless we start knocking down walls, there is literally, no place to increase space or install a bathtub which I really want. Anyway, I was thinking about hiring a bathroom designer to integrate the bathroom with our master bedroom. I'd like to use vanities and tubs that don't look like bathroom fixtures but instead like furniture or works of art. I think this would blend better. Does anyone have any links or pictures to this type of room? Thanks.
Wanting to move to suburb of Boston, any recommendations? My husband and I are looking to move to the Boston area, preferably a suburb with public transportation to the city. We have three young kids (7, 6 and 2), so it needs to be kid-friendly with decent schools. I am a kitchen & bathroom designer and my husband is an elementary teacher. Only other "must" is that it must be a seaside suburb...need to be in short distance from the ocean! Any recommendations from those in the area or who know a lot about the area would be very appreciated. We were originally looking into Salem, but would like other ideas as well.

Any opinions on Jeanese Rowell Interiors in Palo Alto, CA? I need to upgrade my kitchen and bathrooms, and am hoping to find a good designer/architect and contractor who can do a nice job at a reasonable price. If you have worked with this firm, can you comment on the workmanship, dependability, and cost? Also, how much constant supervision was needed? Also, how were conflicts dealt with when they arose? Do you have any other recommendations for a Palo Alto area home? Thank you in advance!
Is there any body else out there who has grown tired of home makeover shows ? what really gets on my nerves is usually some over camp interior designer going into a bathroom and having a fit of the vapours cos the house has an advacado bathroom suite conviently forgetting a similar person was saying ten years ago that a green bathroom [advacado] in designer speak was the thing 2 have, So rip out all that white stuff and replace it with advacado So if u must rip out your advacado suite keep it in storage .For a few years then you can re- use it so therefore saving money ! .Or better still stop making make over shows PLEASE !
is any website that shows or helps rebuilding rooms? I have a garage and I want to make a room out of it. Is there any websites that help or would show nice design. Or like a studio that has a kitchen bathroom. Or a designer website. Thank you.
Interior designer or Doctor? What should i study ... I love learning , and i'm pretty good at science and i like it. I love the fact of being a doctor and providing medical care, but at the same time when i think about the years of schooling and studying to become one, it stresses me out just thinking about it. I also love designing and decorating rooms, kitchens and bathrooms. I find it so fun and interesting to be able to decorate things to make them look amazing. I can picture myself being a interior designer more, but i have a lot of ambition to be a doctor as well. There so different, and i have to start choosing what one i want to do so i can take the appropriate courses and get my marks up. I don't know what to do because they don't fit together, and there down falls to both !
What classes do you need to take for? Becoming a bathroom designer?

service fees for interior design in New York City? What are some rates for 3 rooms (living room, kitchen, bedroom) and a bathroom for interior designers?
I would like to remodel my bathroom and was wondering if there are any designers that could do it for free? I have limited funds and really would like a design student or professional to help. Any suggestions?
Research for new business: Would you pay for a professionally designed kitchen? Im an interior designer looking to start a freelance kitchen, bathroom and cabinetry design business. I have worked in kitchens for over 5 years and also have contacts in the industry to build and install the kitchens at reasonable prices. Id be looking to charge around $150-$200 for designs including 1 hour consultation onsite. Id provide professional working drawings/plans and 3D images. Appreciate any feedback on whether this is a worthwhile venture. Thanks!
Is limestone a good choice for a bathroom floor? I'm doing a bathroom remodel for a brother and his home is not on a slab but has floor joist and plywood. He is working with a home interior designer and she has sold him on the idea of using a limestone for the walls and floors. I'm a carpenter/electrician and have done some tile work but I don't feel good about installing lime stone on a wood floor. Any insight will help:)
How much will it cost to add a master suite including bath onto my house? I live in Dallas, TX in a 3250 sq ft 1969 ranch-style house and have been looking into updating my master bath. However, every contractor and designer I've talked with is having a difficult time getting a bathtub & shower to fit as well as enclosing the toilet in it's own private closet without moving it, which will require drilling into the slab. I also wanted to update the closet storage, which is poorly designed but probably adequate in size. The estimates I have received so far range between 30k and 50k for the bathroom project and may include the closet on the upper end. It occurred to me that I may be able to build a master suite up instead and use my current master bath and room as a game room and pool bath since it is adjacent to the backyard. I realize it may cost more than 50k, but it will also add sq ftg and value to the house, right? If anyone out there able to provide an informed & thorough answer to this question, I certainly would be appreciate it.
Is it recommended to use mosaic Noce travertine on a shower floor if it is sealed, or is it too porous? We're remodeling a bathroom and I've heard conflicting information about shower floors. The natural stone is 1" x 1" tumbled noce travertine to be professionally installed and sealed in a 4 x6' area on the floor of the shower. One designer said it is too porous and is not recommended. A reference book does recommend it as a good material for wet areas. Any experience in this area is appreciated by professionals.
In bathroom decorating, what would an interior designer do? I am trying redecorate my master bath for a more 'regal' look. I was thinking navy and gold, but I can't find ANY ensembles that are navy!! When trying to coordinate bath items, do you match towels with the shower curtain or the rugs? And do you match rugs with the accessories (i.e. toothbrush holder, soap dish, etc.) or match with the walls? I have an old bathroom so it needs a lot of updating. We live on a military base so we can't paint... I just want my bathroom to feel better to walk into, not to repulse me like it does right now! :-)
What would you do if you were on a toilet at a nightclub & someone reached under and stole your shoes!? Keeping in mind, you've just bought the dress and designer high heels a couple of days ago and when you leave the bathroom you notice a girl on the dance floor wearing your shoes.

For a teenage girl that is 14? it will be two seperate rooms, my actual bedroom and then a hangout room that is right next door. should i get a designer? should i try to be on hgtv so they could do it? and what will help tie my bedroom, hangout room, and bathroom together? any advice will really help!

how can I tell a knockoff Dolce Gabanna pair of sunglasses from a real one? I know this girl who thinks she's so stylish and has the big bucks. Yesterday, I noticed a pair of sunglasses in her bathroom, and something tells me they're not real. They have the DG letters on the sides, and DG 2540 on the inside of the rim. Are they "Designer inspired" or real?

What to do or Not to do to my home? This is my first home and I'm moving out in about 6 years. We already have been in here about a year. My husband and I are in the military and next year, I am getting out to go to college full time. I want to spruce up the master bathroom(appliance rearrange) and the tv room(closet from hell) and the garage( theater room) but I don't want to put so much money in this house and kick myself when it's time to sell. How do you know what to mess with, when to get a contractor, how to figure out your budget, what to do yourself, how much is too much, when to hire the realtor to evaluate what to do in the house (like on the home and garden shows), when i should hire a designer to get the most out of my home without spending too much money or time or whether it's worth doing at all, when to get a survey of the area.... oh boy....
What color wall should I use with travertine tile? I am remodeling my bathroom and wonder what color will look best on my walls. I have a 12x12 light travertine tile, dark cherry double vanity and white under-mount sinks. Need a designer advise ;-)
Found designer high heels at a house party? Just curious as a friend at mine at work just told me this story and I'm wondering what people would've done 'in her shoes'. (No pun intended!) Basically she went to a friend's house warming party this weekend. It was fun, filled with people (mostly strangers to her) and there was a lot of alcohol. Towards the early parts of the morning, she had removed her shoes and had been dancing for ages, and finally wanting to go home went to the bathroom before leaving. Inside she found a pair of discarded, stunning red patent leather designer stilettos. She tried them on and left the bathroom asking around whose they were, after being unable to find out who the owner was, she just left with them on and showed us all this morning, her 'new' Brian Atwood (really expensive) shoes. To be perfectly honest, I'm a little stunned she took someone's shoes!? Everyone else just laughed and told her 'way to go'. What would you have done? What's your take on it? What if you were the hapless girl who wakes up on a sofa feeling ill, want to go home and realize your expensive, designer shoes are gone.
How do you install a wall-hung toilet (basically)? http://www.kitchenandpantry.com//Product.asp?ItemID=7642 I am interested in taking a "rest-stop" toilet, like the shorter Kohler Kingston, and putting a regular toilet seat and lid (nice ones) on it, so I don't have the toilet base on the floor, thus making my tiny bathroom look bigger and making it easier to clean. I can't afford the designer versions (some over $1,000). BUT how do you convert from a floor toilet drain to a wall hook-up, and where the heck does the water come into this thing? Do you need a metal supporter behind the wall or only 2X6's? I don't want it to ever sag. It only uses 1.6 gallons per flush, pretty good. It seems the price isn't so bad, like around $175, but are there parts missing, like flanges and valves, that make this much more costly? I've always wanted this, because I think the floor around toilets gets dirty.
what color flooring should I use? I want to install vinyl plank flooring in my two bedroom apartment, but I don't know what color to choose. I originally wanted bamboo color because it's lighter and might make my place look bigger, but now I'm thinking about a darker chocolate wooden color because it can hide dirt, but I'm afraid it will make my place look smaller. It might be significant to note that I have teal colored marble in my kitchen and bathrooms so it will have to compliment that. Any suggestions from interior designers or experts? Mahalo!
How do I even start getting a bathroom renovated? what kind of person is the starting point for a job like this? plumber? architect? interior designer? who???
Would removing plastic bathroom tile from the twenties ruin the historical appeal of my apartment? This tile is an ugly light green color. My landlord agreed to remove it and install white subway tile with gray grout and his interior designer agreed. Now, all of the sudden he says he does not want to do it because he is afraid what is behind the tiles and he needs to retain as much historical appeal as possible and leave as much in this apartment that was orginal. I think that he is just trying to be cheap! Come on... plastic green tile would be more appealing then white subway tile. And -- this place is not ona historical registry not is the landlord working toward that.
Cabinet builders goofed up. Designer goes to another builder to fix problems. Now they want more money!!? We order and receive cabinets from Quakermaid about two years ago for a kitchen remodel. We went to a designer to plan and order everything. Instead of going with the designer's contractor we opted to do the remodel ourselves. What the hell, we're young and foolish. There are delays, windows come wrong, some reframing is needed, it's a lot of work, etc. So when we finally get to installing the cabinets we notice a couple of them aren't finished on some exposed sides like they should have been. The crown mouldings we are sent won't fit because they aren't the part numbers that were ordered. The face panels for the built-in appliances are not to spec. Everything written on the invoicing and designs are correct, it's just that Quakermaid made mistakes on a few of the 120 plus items and they have a lifetime warranty on their workmanship. In January we take these issues back to the designer who designed and ordered everything for us. She says that she's had two previous clients with similar issues, Quakermaid's customer service takes way too long, and gives her a hard time. So she sends our stuff to another cabinet maker to fix all the problems we can't live with. No paperwork and no mention is made of this costing us. Now, 4 months later, the pieces are ready and the designer's company says we owe them over $800 for the work. The designer we dealt with either left or was let go within the last month and a half. So now her former partner says we owe them. I say that it was their decision to have the corrections made elsewhere instead of going back to Quakermaid and their lifetime warranty. She says Quakermaid usually only covers mistakes like this if they are caught within the first 6 months. The warranty info I have from Quakermaid says they have a lifetime warranty. We got that warranty info when we received the cabinets. I know someone has to pay for the work done to correct the problems but I don't think it should be me. The designer made the choice not to go back to Quakermaid and no one said we'd be paying for someone elses mistakes. I'm fed up with this whole thing to the point that I'm willing to walk away and let them keep the pieces. I can put a small writing desk where one of the improperly finished pieces should have been and do without the crown moldings. Then I can at least get my counter tops installed and deal with the other mistakes later. A couple friends have suggested small claims court, but I think that'd open a can of worms and I'm burned out on this already. Another has suggested sucking it up, paying the bill and getting this done so we can move on. I haven't gone back to the desingers yet about the warranty info I found after I talked to them. I told them we'd get back to them, not making any promises and I'm tring to keep my cool. They still have our designs for the bathroom and I don't want to have to relive that headache. Like I said, I'm ready to be done with this whole thing. What do you think? A little correction. I did not mention the lifetime warranty wehn I talked to the designers partner since I didn't knwo about it at the time. I simply said it was their choice no to go back to Quakermaid. Since we had already paid everything in full when we first received the cabinets then the first answerer might be right. I know it's a sticky situation. We'll be talking to them face to face tomorrow and WILL be bringing up that they don't have anything authorizing additional charges. But basically they have some of our items that we already paid for. And for us to get them back they want us to pay for the additional work they did to make them usable. Any more advice, whether it's a solution or not, will help give us ideas about how to approach this tomorrow. Thanks.

Sunday morning on HGTV there was a show that put plywood behind a sink in the bathroom. What show was it? A designer on some show on HGTV stained plywood a dark color and put it on the wall as a back splash. They put round mirrors with lights behind them on also.
Do interior designers create a look then have the furniture/decor/etc. manufactured or...? Do interior designers create a look then have the furniture/decor/etc. manufactured or do they shop for items all over and create a look that way? Let's say an interior designer is designing a bathroom, do they illustrate new facets, sink, tub, racks, toilet, etc. and then all of those new designs are manufactured for a client, or do they look at the bathroom and choose certain items for it based on what's available in stores? Thanks
computer class questions? 1. Suggest with a reason, the printer that is most suitable for the following application. (b) An inexpensive printer that can produce interesting colour posters. 2. Unravel the gobbledegook Mr. Hughes the computer salesman at Computer Universe PLC is explaining about printers to a family who has just bought a PC for home use. They have never owned a computer before and know almost nothing about them. They are deciding whether to buy a laser printer or an ink-jet but Mr Hughes is not helping with his explanation. Here is what Mr Hughes has said. Can you unravel the gooblegook and put his explanation into words that they will be able to understand? It all depends on whether your paper output is in monochrome or colour. The ink-jet will produce 2400 dpi and around 10 ppm in colour and 12 ppm in monochrome. It will also produce photo-quality printouts. The laser printer produces 1200 dpi monochrome and around 14 ppm. If you want a colour laser it is very expensive at around $3000. Cost of ownership is less for a laser printer but you have to outlay the money at the start. (a) Write down your alternative explanation. (b) After you have written your simpler explanation produce a list of questions that the salesman should ask to make sure that they buy the most suitable printer. 3. A bathroom designer company uses a computer to help plan new bathrooms. The company sends a salesperson out who measures up the bathroom and makes certain suggestions regarding the arrangement of the toilet, bath, basin, shower, etc. When the client is happy with the arrangement, the salesperson returns to the shop where the bathroom design is transferred to the screen. The client is then sent a three-dimensional diagram of what their bathroom will look like. (a) Name a device, other than a keyboard, that the designer could use as an input device and say why it is suitable. (b) A very accurate and high quality printout is needed for the installers to work from. Name an output device that could produce a high quality plan. (c) What other tasks could the computer perform other than those already mentioned?

Name a designer dog? Mix up two breeds and give them the craziest thing you can think of. If you want to be uncreative, use a name you've seen before. For example, I don't feel that creative so Westie/Poodle=Wee-poo, perfect for a trip to the bathroom.
Virtual Room Designer? I need a website where I can create a custom bedroom and a bathroom including like comforter, accent, etc. because my mom and dad are letting me custom design my room as my 16th birthday present and I really cant describe what I want so I have to show them. Please help me remove hydrochloric acid stain on clothing!? My daughter's favorite dress is lovely orange and was expensive (designer label). Last time she wore it my husband took it off her in the bathroom and dropped it on the floor, not noticing that a bottle of toilet cleaner had fallen over next to it. When I found the dress it had toilet cleaner on it. I was furious! I immediately threw the dress in a cold wash, wrongly believing the cleaner was bleach. When the dress came out of the wash it had dark bluish blotchy stains on the orange. I checked the label of the toilet cleaner and found out it contains hydrochloric acid!!! Is there any way I can get the stains out of the dress? It's 100% cotton. If it's ruined my daughter and I will both be broken-hearted as this dress was a favorite and still had loads of growing room. I should add that the dress has already been machine washed but not machine dried or sun-dried. It did not fall apart (it is from a clothing line famed for extreme durability). At the same time, the stains DID NOT appear before the dress was washed, and the toilet cleaner isn't blue to begin with, so I seriously doubt the stain is from blue dye in the toilet cleaner.
I need the names of some Art Deco designers....? ...for my interior design project. I'll be looking through catalogs for wallcoverings, bedroom furniture, bathroom furniture and accessories, fabric textiles, lighting, etc. What are some good names to look for?! Thanks!
Did you know that for $15-150/week, you can rent a designer hand bag? Is it just me, but I can think up some other, more important things to do with that $15, like start a camp fire, or keep it in the bathroom in case I run out of TP. http://www.bagborroworsteal.com/ui/welcome?adTrackId=9591&sourceCode=9591 (oops, I posted that in the suggested category!) People rent rims for their cars?!?!?!
Painting a small bathroom - which two walls? Wife thinks opposite walls, I think adjacent. Any designers? My though is you paint the walls you see right away (a blue/grey), then when you sit down you look at white walls, making the small bathroom seem a little larger. My wife thinks that sounds a little funny, and thinks we should alternate the grey and white. Any thoughts from designers out there? Thanks!
Bathroom remodel - to Hire an professional to do the drawings.? How much does it cost to have an Architect or a designer draw up some plans for you. I am looking to redo my master bath and I want a wow factor and no pictures I find will do it. I like clean and contemporary. I also will do most of the work myself.
I need advice from a designers, creative mind for a redo on my bathroom...read on, there's more...? My bathroom is small 8x6 with the tub on one wall and the toilet and sink on the opposite wall. The floor is 12x12 tile in a nautral taupe stone color. I am going to have to remud the walls and other than that, everthing is up in the air. On thing, my bathtub is that old mustard yellow 70's gold color which I won't be replacing for a couple of years. I have it covered with a shower curtain now. I need ideas on wall color, textures, accessories that will look fabulous, modern, but may somewhat go with the tub so overnight guests won't cringe when they pull the curtain back... The main color scheme throughout the house is chocolate brown, taupe, and red. Oh, toilet and sink and counter is white, large oval mirror over sink with tulip shaped light fixture. Let me know what you think...THANKS!!!
Challenge for bathroom floor designers in small NYC rent stabilized apartment..? Hi, I'm one of the lucky ones that has been able to legally grandfather a rent stabilize an apartment. Yes, the landlord of the building wants to kill me and NO he will not go out of his way to do any repairs that are not critical or dangerous. My bathroom floor is only about 3x3 ft but the tile is so old and cracked, it is beyond repair. The landlord will not replace it nor will he allow me to remove the original tile. I don't have the time or energy to fight him. What could be a simple pretty solution to put on top of the ceramic tile that would withstand water from shower and tub area. I don't want to put tile on top of tile and I think carpet in bathrooms is horrible, I also have 2 cats and they will just rip it to shreds. Can anyone give me some smart durable advice? I would be very greatful. I'm open to all ideas. Thanks! :-)
Here is a rough version of the first chapter of my book? Chapter 1 “No! I will not stay here and deal with her! We live like such fools! Forget your regrets about the divorce! I’m not going to come running to you either! I’m leaving for good!” Candace yelled into the receiver. “Well, you’re going to have to stay, whether you like it or not. What is your other choice?” Mr. Timmons insisted in a frustrated tone. He was becoming increasingly impatient with Candace and her demands. “I have had it with both you and Mom! I am just going to leave!” she screamed. She slammed the receiver down on the desk. Her face, as swollen as a bad mosquito bite, wrote a story of anger and tearful disappointment. Candace felt betrayed by her father’s refusal to allow her to live on her own in apartment, or else, take her into his home. The predominant coldness of her mother had finally pushed her to the cliff’s edge. Leaning over precariously while looking down at the valley below, she thought about jumping off sometimes. Her desire to get out of her living situation seemed stronger than ever. She was putting her escape plans into effect. Thanks heavens I probably won’t be staying here much longer. I can go stay with Dad or Auntie and really work on my paintings. Her hazel eyes met with her mother’s cold steel blue eyes. Candace stared right through her, as if she were a mirage instead of a desert oasis. A righteous rage penetrated her mother slowly, but she chose to ignore her interests as usual. Warning, symbols and body language meant little to her because of her emotional vacancy. “So I guess you will be happy now. You’ve finally got what you wanted. Don’t bother to say goodbye and I will see my way out,” Candace announced coolly. You always use people and then pretend that you didn’t do anything to them, or that you’re really sorry about your actions. Mrs. Timmons hardly looked up from her spot. She jerked to the right in her chair for some reason, maybe from shock. Candace couldn’t really tell what was going on in her mind. She waited for a response from her mother. Finally, Mrs. Timmons took a deep breath and let out an exasperated sigh. “Fine. Leave the keys with me. Take what you need and nothing else,” Mrs. Timmons responded icily, as she crossed her arms over her chest. She stared at the floor instead of raising her head to look at her daughter. “Well, you always get what you want now, don’t you? One way or another, you manage to manipulate my life. Sometimes I can’t even believe what you’ve managed to get away with. If Dad only knew the whole story,” she moaned as she trailed off, twisting her left fingers into her hair. Mrs. Timmons defiantly looked away for a moment. She took a deep breath while her eyes moved back and forth from one side of the room to the other. Candace waited for her to say that last comment she usually made whenever they disagreed. I’m not the one who has to win the arguments, she thought to herself. “Well, do what you want. You are always full of nonsense. Just go pack up your things and leave then, if you’re not happy. It’s not like I want to hold you up,” she announced coldly after a few minutes had passed. “Fine.” Candace retorted without hesitation. I won’t waste my time on someone who doesn’t care, because if I wanted to, I would stay. She furiously fled out of the living room. Rushing across the hall, she headed for the far staircase. Since she had lost this round of gunfire, she decided that she would no longer fight in this war of words between her mother and her father. Her intention was to leave this house, once and for all. This time, her determination to leave seemed genuine. Her strawberry-blonde hair flew through the air in streams as she nearly catapulted herself out of the room. Her mother and sisters stared behind her as she made her way out. She was always the first and last one in the room to make a scene. Her mother put her book down on the side table, got up out of her rocking chair and walked to the middle of the Persian carpet that lined the hardwood floor. She watched as her eldest daughter stomped up the stairs to her room on the third floor. “Don’t bother saying goodbye! I don’t want to see you ever again!” she yelled down the stairs as she crossed the loft into her room. There was no response. Her words echoed through the entire house. The usual realization of her indifference caused little grief to Candace, since she had spent years putting up with her mother’s attempts at using her to get more money out of her father. They had been divorced since she was eleven. Their separation wasn’t unpleasant, and neither was their marriage. Her father was simply a classic workaholic. He stayed at the office till 8 p.m. or later on a typical weeknight. This Friday, she managed to get a hold of him before 9 p.m. That was unusual for her. Initially, she had hoped her mother might actually respond in her favor. As usual, her dreams were dashed. She had decided to just hang up without saying anything else to her father. Her father didn’t make most of the decisions simply because he wasn’t around. Because of his lack of involvement, she had put up with her mother’s meddling for years. Tears rolled down her eyes as she stormed up the stairs to the attic above. Her temper was like a brooding tempest that waited in the outer edges of the horizon, closing in slowly on a warm, clear sky. She continuously shocked all the members of her family with her outbursts. They could never predict how, when or why she would let her demons loose. The bedroom door slammed behind her. She dropped onto her bed, placed her head on her pillows for a moment, then let out a sigh. She rested there for a few minutes. Then exasperation took over, so she decided to take a quick shower. As she stripped each layer of clothing and placing them in a pile on the bathroom floor, she slid into the hot shower she had just started. Quickly she lathered up the soap and began washing herself. The warm water rinsed away her salty tears that had started streaming down her cheeks. She was relieved to be upstairs, just so that she could avoid crying in front of her mother. Mrs. Timmons had disapproved of any public display of emotion. This was one of the many so-called attributes of hers that annoyed Candace greatly. As polar opposites, they didn’t have much in common to begin with. She wasn’t obsessed with clothes, but her mother had to have the finest designer clothing from all the expensive shops downtown. As a child, she had been fascinated occasionally by a beautiful dress for a special occasion, but as soon as she hit her teens, she started buying baby doll dresses and seventies-style clothing from old thrift shops or else, the mall. Once in a while she went to a large boutique when they had a sale, but she didn’t shop on a daily basis. Her mother was nearly addicted to high fashion and had racked up huge bills every month. When she realized the allowance wasn’t enough to pay for all the items she bought, she went to court to demand more money. At one point, she even had to take out a second mortgage just to pay off her credit line. She had read their files, budget plans and online portfolio. She thought about these details as she washed and conditioned her hair. She let the water rinse her thoroughly, then finally stood in the shower for a while just to feel the warm water fall on her body. She thought that was a sensual experience of sorts. She wasn’t a virgin anymore, so she was fascinated by every opportunity to experience some kind of sexual or sensual pleasure. Finally, she got out of the shower, brushed out her hair and dried off her body with a towel. For a moment, she looked at herself in the mirror. She was thankful that her appearance was so different from her mother. With her light reddish blonde hair and dark hazel eyes, she resembled her patriarchal grandmother far more than the woman who gave birth to her. With the release of a sigh, she picked up a tube of concealer. As she dotted the makeup over her circles, she started examining the situation. Candace had wanted out of the family for a long time. The only members she got along with, other than her little sisters, were her aunts and uncles. Her grandparents had passed during the first nine years of her childhood. She figured she would go stay with them for awhile, since they would not mention that she was staying with them. They lived six hours away along the coast. During her teenage years, she had tossed around the idea of running away, which seemed glamorous and wild. Occasionally, she read the newspaper. One of the featured stories might mention teenagers arrested by police officers, kids in juvenile hall, and occasionally, something about kids on the street. She had decided against such an existence. Now she was older. Her main focus now was to get off this battlefield of anger, simmering discontent and veiled hostility. She would not wear a mask of calmness over her anger like her mother.

Know where I can find some spa stones?? The other day on TV I saw an interior designer use spa stones to cover up a bathroom floor. He put them around the corners and edges of the wall and around the rugs to hide outdated tiling. Does anyone know where I can find those rocks for pretty cheap? They look like black spa stones or something... The other day on TV I saw an interior designer use spa stones to cover up a bathroom floor. interior door question? from a designer's perspective, is it a big deal for a master bathroom door to swing open into a hall instead of the bathroom? the hall is more of a nook, roughly 3'6" wide, and 3' deep. if the door swings open into the bath, it'll overlap another door. if it opens into the hall, it'll work fine, but is this asthetically acceptable? designers please help.
I have radiator in bathroom but where key goes is facing wall so no room! where can i get special key? Its a lovely designer radiator, its just mad no room for normal key to go in. thanks, Christine
what are some great plants to use in my bathroom? I want to put a natural plant or flowers in my bathroom without it dieing on me. I used to have bamboo but it started to turn yellow so I took it out. If you can provide a picture it would be great or at least the proper name for the plant/flower so I can google it. I've noticed that in designer rooms they use orchids. I wonder if they are natural or artificial. Thanks!!
For interior designers: mixing woods? i have to do a scholarship project for interior design, i need to design an entire home and i have been sticking with light floors throughout the house but both bedrooms have dark wood, bathroom has cherry on window frames, living room has dark wood like the bedrooms, and the dining room and kitchen cabinets have light wood. is it okay to have different wood colors for different rooms? or should it be the same throughout the house. if it helps, im trying to use all eco friendly material. thanks
Should you tip bathroom attendants even if they don't really do anything for you? I've been in some fancy restaurants before where in the bathrooms there is a bathroom attendant, this huge array of expensive colognes, nice soaps-- basically a lot of weird, extravegant bathroom toiletries. I don't ever use any of them, besides the normal soap-- which the bathroom attendant usually gives to you. After that, they give you a towel to dry your hands after you are done washing them. I never use the cologne or anything, but I was wondering if it is the proper ettiquette to tip them anyways. I see all this rich, pushover guys hand the bathroom attendant a $20 bill in the most noticable and obnxious way possible, but I think that's a little much. Besides, they usually find a way to douse themselves in some designer cologne. So, what's the proper thing to do? I'm 17, so I'm not one of those rich, pushover guys, but should I even tip the bathroom attendant a little? Before this, I just say "Thanks a lot," or "Have a nice day, thanks,". What's the correct thing to do? Whoa, sorry for all of my grammatical and spelling errors.
Any architects/designers in the house? need your help!? Im working on the floor plans of an apartment/clubhouse and I was wondering if in the typical apartment floor plans, is it ok if i just show the unit partitions alone and provide typical unit blow-ups? Or do i have to include bathroom walls as well as other wall partitions within the unit for my typical floor plan?
What is your zodiac sign? Does any of this describe you? I am Aries, I must say I do resemble some of these remarks. I'm always bumping my head & I can relate to Hard Headed Women by Cat Stevens and I won't bring a knife to a gun fight :) ENJOY!

what does this other dream mean plz? so i had like 3 dreams. one about how this girl stole my lighter (actially happened e_e) and i was trying to get it back. Another was about these people that wanted me to be a fashion designer and i went upstairs but their was this big open window but it kinda scared me cuz i thought i might fall and so they closed it and their liek we want you to work here. and i was like cool cuz the people liked me. and their liek but in order to work here you have to fire kelsey. and i was liek..i dont really wanna fire her. then i was using the bathroom and the toliet liek overflowed or somethin and my hair was wet and i hada change shirts cuz it was wet. and i made friends there but in the end i think i decided not to work there. AND then i was in a line at a groery store buying condoms (O-O???) anywho and the lady(cashier) was taking forever and i looked over and my mom was was on a bench and one of my ex's was over there and im liek why is he talking to her instead of me? and i asked the cashier to hurry up and she ripped open the condoms and threw them away. and i got mad and swiped everything off her desk.and no one would listen that the lady was mean and i was liek omg why did she do that and i was trying to some people behind me in the line that the lady was bad er w/e but no one listened then my mom was chasin me around tryin to hurt me and i was hoping someone would see but no one noticed. and i climbed over these um cakes but they were shaped flat liek pizzas and i was liek sideways runnin away from my mom and i was gona stop running but then i decided i didnt want her to hurt me and I was runnin around goin thro all these people sometimes in circles around this like grocery table to get away from her but no one was helping or looking but I kept hoping they would
Would you call this girl spoiled?? If a girl gets almost everything she wants from her parents but works very hard at school like a straight A student. Lives in a 2 story custom house. Has two closets, an iPhone, pink suffle, blue nano, pink verizon razr, micheal kors handbags, 2 chanel handbags, 1 louis vuitton, pink prada purse, and over 50 handbags. She travels first class. Goes to a private school that costs 15,000 a year. Shops a lot. Owns a lot of designer stuff. She has two rooms and two bathrooms, and she got to redocorate both of her rooms 2 times in 2 years (from PBTeen). Would you consider this girl to be a brat? pink shuffle* Well she does chores though and earns money for something if she really wants it but her parents won't get it for her. She's not mean or stuck up either. 2 iPods because nano almost broke but then got fixed kinda stupid but oh well. 2 cell phones sounds stupid but it's because the Razr was verizon and they couldn't end the contract and she did chores for the iPhone. So she earned it basically. Thanks for answering most of you guys were nice! Oh anyways to answer that girls question she redecorated it twice because she moved after a year so basically once in each house. The purses aren't all designer only 8 or something but a lot of them are like totes from A&F and Vera bradley and etc.
if u had a bday present..? and it was 4 ur daughter and it was the cutest freakin bag in the world from a kewl designer, u had a closet, bathroom, and loads of drawers, where would u hide it?
Does anyone know what brand the dress Lindsay Lohan wore in her "Confessions of a Broken Heart" music video is http://www.mtv.com/news/photos/l/lohan_lindsay_051012/flip-i.jpg That's the dress she wore in her Confessions of a Broken Heart music video, in the bathroom scene. I love it, and I'm dying to know if I can find it anywhere, if anyone knows which designer made it...unless it was custom made?
Bathroom Vanity Lighting Source(s)? On the bathroom remodel, I would like to install the vertical lighting on either side of the medicine cabinet as per numerous lighting designers recommendations. Unfortunately, the available space on either side of the cabinet is limited to no more than 3", which has surprisingly restricted the choices so far to about zero. I would prefer fluorscent lamps with diffusers and brass base units along with electronic ballasts. After too many hours trollling the net and visits to local lighting shops and way too many catalogs, still no luck. Thanks in advance for any suggestions on suppliers to contact for this elusive piece of the remodeling puzzle.
Help me complete my I.T. homework, pleeease!!? A bathroom design company uses a computer to help plan new bathrooms. The company sends a salesperson out who measures up the bathroom and makes certain suggestions regarding the arrangement of the toilet, basin, etc. When the client is happy with the arrangement, the salesperson returns to the shop where the bathroom design is transferred to the screen. The client is then sent a three-dimensional diagram of what their bathroom will look like. a)Name a device, other than a keyboard, that the designer could use as an input device and say why it is suitable.(No need for this answer, I know the answer is 'Graphics tablets'.) b)A very accurate and high quality printout is needed for the installers to work from. Name an output device that could produce a high quality plan.(Don't answer this one too 'cause I know the answer is 'Graph plotter') c)What other tasks could the computer perform other than those already mentioned?(Answer this one, please!)
Anyone From Maryland?? I am looking for a home designer or contractors to renovate and redecorate my house especially on my bathrooms and my unfinished basement. Anyone has any recommendation to a good designer or contractors who charge resonably? Many thanks.
what do you think? I wrote this poem a few years ago. Judgment Halls Middle School halls are where it begins. Spreading gossip and lies, Where everyone loses and no one wins. Where we just toss each other into social bins. Somewhere in a bathroom a young girl cries, Middle School halls are where it begins. The place where we make most all of our sins. Only designer the most popular girl buys. Everyone loses and no one wins. Those who follow trends all look like twins. By way of expressing ourselves, these clothes only disguise. Middle school halls are where it begins. Lots of popular girls with their smirks and mean grins. You too embarrassed to even meet their eyes. Everyone loses and no one wins. Middle school is where a lot of people try to be “in.” That girl losing self-respect every time she tries. Middle school halls are where it begins. Where everyone loses and no one wins.

commcast with wireless router? Hi, Please pardon my profanity, but right now i am ready to tear the carpet out of my floor. My apt is in a great location, is clean, beautiful, has a lake in front of it, amazing management etc...BUT has the cable connection near the bathroom ARRGHH ( maybe the designer wanted me to poop while checking email) and i cannot run a cat5 cable long enough to reach my bedroom or living room. So i buy a wireless router, a belkin F5D7230. The guy at BestBuy was going to have a fit if I didnt buy the belkin saying that its the best router on god's earth. Now. I do the setup and i can connect to the internet for exactly 24.9867 milliseconds. which is not enough for me to even type the "ya" in yahoo.i keep cycling power resetting, etc i get connected only for a little time. My computer is configured for automactic IP address, I just cannot understand why it doesnt work. Is it the fabulous no-good idiotic useless cheap trash mtrucking RCA cable modem that comcast rents me or is it the belkin?
