Interior designs? I moved into an apartment a few months back and the place is still barren. I got a bed and a couch and that's pretty much it. I'm buying new furniture and wanna make the place spruce but I don't know anything about decorating. My question is are there any good free sites with pictures of different designs that I can actually look at? I'm not so much into the idea of learning how to put what together, I just wanna look at some pics for good ideas. I like modern a lot. I'm going for a swanky bachelor pad. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks, peeps.
What is the style of Pushing Daisies' interior designs? I am absolutely in love with the decorating and interior designs on Pushing Daisies, especially Ned’s apartment and the Pie Hole. Specifically, does anyone know the style in which Ned’s living room, bedroom, and kitchen are designed in? I know that it is all very retro and 30’s, 40’s, 50’s-ish, are there any pros out there that can give a name to the style in which these rooms are decorated? Any details on the designs of these rooms would be great. Thanks!

Who designs the airplane interior? I always wondered about this. There are thousands of airlines, and each of them has their own seat map, seats, IFE despite its similarity. So, who designs this? Is physics necessary for pursuing a career in interior design? In interior designs shows, it usually shows the designer picking out furniture, or matching fabric, drawing out the rough draft of what the space would look like, etc. The designer would usually have people to figure out all the calculations for him/her - or so it seems. Would an interior designer in real life need to do the calculations / physics? (For example, if they wanted to hang something from the ceiling, they would need to figure out how much weight it could take, from which angle it could be hung from, etc.)

And where do designers get those enormous design catalogues from? (think Candice Olson from Divine Design) Manufacturers? Hi, I live in NY state. We don't need one here, as far as I know.

What is the career potential for interior design? I wish I could choose to go into a field that has high demand, but my only real passion and interests are in art/design. To me, interior design honestly seems the most practical, but is there really enough demand in the job market? I've been asking around and people tell me to go into what my heart is in, and I definitely do strongly lean towards art, though I just don't want to waste my time and effort. I guess I'm just looking for reassurance or advice on interior design and jobs in the art/design area in general.

Do I have to be good in art to pursue interior designing as a career? I suck at drawing, painting, sculpture, print-making, sketching or anything to do with art. But I'm very interested in interior designing. I like to makeover rooms in my head and think about what an ideal house would look like. Will my handicap in art keep me from being successful in the interior designing field? And also, what all qualifications do you need to get into interior designing? Can you recommend some college and high school courses I can take? I've just finished my sophomore year in high school, and I've started thinking about my future. I'm a straight-A student, but I'm not really interested in medicine, engineering, IT or other "scholarly" stuff like that. My talent in the art room is limited, but I'm very creative. (I'm also good at creative writing such as short stories and poems etc.) So, yeah, I'm creative; I can think out of the box. And I'm very interested in interior designing. Well, those are the facts. I would love some good advice on this subject.

Does anyone know how to start an interior design business? Here's the details. Everyone that see's my home raves about my decorating and tells me I should be a designer. Thats fine and sounds very interesting to me, but I have no formal education in interior design. There is not a single college that offers these types of programs in my area and my husband is military, so I cannot move to attend college. I was wondering if it's possible to start a decorating service that just advices clients and helps them with their redecoration. Rather than completely doing the job for them and charging them some sort of insane fee. I want to give people ideas and then help them do that. Like painting etc. And make it very affordable also. Would anyone have any advice on how I should go about this?

What type of school should I study interior design at? When desiring a degree in an art based career is it better to go to an art school/career school or is going to a regular university sufficient enough? Is there a name for the interior design where they nail a bunch of random items to the walls? I've been in more chain restaurants than I care to admit and they all seem to have the same interior design cues. A bunch of garage sale fodder is invariably nailed to the walls; old board games b-movie posters from the 50's...sometimes they'll go as far as to find memorabilia related to the area. There is a Ruby Tuesday's in my area that has items from the local university and high schools on the walls. Is there a name for that kind of design?
